Planning a baby/currently pregnant? - More babies, or are you done?

ilovemybaby replied: If we have a boy this time we are definitely done LOL But we both would really love to have a little boy so if we are having another girl (I'm pregnant due late August) we would like to try again... if we can afford to. Then comes the decision when to stop trying for a boy LOL My auntie had three boys and then her girl.

I know what you mean though, I'd really like to have an "even" family, like 2 boys 2 girls, 1 boy 1 girl, that sort of thing...but obviously any healthy happy baby will be a blessing!

3xsthefun replied: I'm not really sure yet. I'd like to have at least 1 more. DH he sometimes says he thinks about it, but is about it. He really hasn't gave me a diffinite answer if he wants anymore or not.

MamaJAM replied: We're done having babies. We always wanted 5 kiddos - and we're there now. BUT - we won't be doing anything permanent...so, who knows what lies down the road. (DH and I often joke that we'll have a surprise baby in our 50s when we've already got grandkids. )

I don't know if we will be done after this one or not. It depends on if this one is ACTUALLY a girl, if I have another boy we will probably try again, and might anyway, who knows, we will have to wait and see!

Edward's Mommy replied: Right now, we only have Edward. But when he's about 2 or 3, we're going to have more. I want as many babies as I can have. But I want them all to be about 2 or 3 years apart.

MyLuvBugs replied: PG now with number 2....I just want a healthy baby so it doesn't matter to me really. However, DH is praying for a boy to "balance out the hormones in this house" (his exact words )

We're planning on 3 kids total.....although...... .....I'm hoping for four instead.

Brias3 replied: I'd LIKE another one but we really haven't decided for sure. We always have said that three is the limit. My current baby fever doesn't help but the way I see it, I'll ALWAYS want another baby in the house so maybe I should quit while I'm ahead? Realistically, I really couldn't handle another at the current time but I think I'll always yearn for a baby in the house

NEWMOM05 replied: We are going to start trying around December 20th. Kathryn's first B-Day. I want at least 4 kids, but then we plan on adopting as well. Curtis was adopted and I have relatives who have adopted. We want a big family and have lots of Love to give.

I know, I hope we are having a boy too! LOL I really don't want to be pregnant again. Not that I have had bad pregnancies... I really do not want to go through labour more than twice either.

As long as baby is healthy we'll be happy... I was just thinking today what if the ultrasound tech told us there was a problem... I don't know how I'd handle that.

ashtonsmama replied: I can't imagine how I'd react to having a baby who had health issues...I hope this baby is a healthy one...my friend Rhea recently had a baby stillborn and it hit me pretty hard because I was still 6 months pregnant...it's scary to think about that happening to yourself and your baby...we'll all be praying for healthy babies!

Yeah. I think I could handle having a child with special needs eg Downs Syndrome or something like that. But I dpn't think I could handle seeing my baby in pain or having surgery etc...
Heart problems kind of run in our family (on my dads side). So until I hear the ultrasound tech say that this baby is healthy too I will be a little nervous.
My uncle died from congenital heart disease at age 29. My auntie needs heart surgery of some kind but won't have it.

This makes baby #4 for me- in 5 years (DH has a kid from another relationship that doesnt live with us, so I guess technically this makes 5). I want to work again, in about 1.5 yrs, and I want to move on from the "pregnancy" chapter of my life. I have both boys and a girl, so I am DONE!!

We really, REALLY hope this is a boy. DH wants a boy so bad (to have his last name....my boys arent his bio-sons, although he does love and treat them as his own) and I want whatever makes him happy, so we are hoping for a boy. Of course, a girl would be equally fine, he has said as much many times. Its just about the name, I guess...maybe we could name a little girl after him (no, kidding, its about the last name)

If we had a girl, DH might consider another one in a few years but I am just not up for it & then we might have ANOTHER girl and I just dont think I could handle 3 teenaged girls in my house on top of 2 teenaged boys

Congrats ladies, and it's fun to hear everyone's different stories...I know that I definitely want more after this one, but not sure exactly how many...probably want to adopt after maybe 3 or 4? So it's fun to see where everyone's at baby-wise!!!

booey2 replied: We have two great boys, 4 and almost 8 and DH says there is no way he could handle going back to the newborn stage. He is over 40 and has a hard time handling the boys now. I would have loved to have more - I had great pregnancies and relatively easy deliveries - but I don't think it will happen, he is going to make an appointment with the doctor soon to have the big V done. I just wish he would hurray up and make the appointment so we can put babies behind us and I can get rid of all my baby stuff (I still have boxes of clothes of the boys) and we can get rid of the birthcontrol.
