Play Kitchens
MyBabeMaddie wrote: I definitely want to get a play kitchen for Christmas this year but there are so many to choose from... Does anyone have one they would reccommend?
Here are a couple I'm debating..

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2420028 (that one seems like it may be too big)

There are a few more, but those are the main ones I like
Anthony275 replied: i like the 3rd and 4th one
amynicole21 replied: I really like that last one! I would love to get one for our girls, but we just don't have the room
luvmykids replied: We have one like number 4, and one that is kind of between it and number 2. They've held up really well but it's a PITA to change the batteries
Kentuckychick replied: I like the 2nd and 4th ones
My favorite one right now is the Red Retro kitchen from Pottery Barn Kids... but Good Golly, the price is WAY up there!
Brias3 replied: The first kitchen we got for Aliyah was similar to your number 3 choice, but a Fisher Price model I believe. She got it right around the age Maddie is now and LOVED it, so you've certainly picked a good gift!
Aliyah got this one Pink Retro Kitchen Set for Christmas two years ago and still plays with it everyday (Mason actually does too!), so kitchen sets have always been the big favorite around our house too!!
Kentuckychick replied: Ohhh... Does anyone have this kitchen???? http://kmart.shoplocal.com/kmart/Default.a...gid=-2092379385
I'm pretty sure it's new, but I was just wondering. That's what we're thinking about getting the kiddos for the house for Christmas. I wish it wasn't purple... but I still think it's really neat! We'd probably get the stove and make our own fridge.
Sorry... didn't mean to hijack!
A&A'smommy replied: I LOVE the second one, we have it and got it when alyssa was 1 and she STILL plays with it. The others are great for small children but they don't necessarily "grow" with them KWIM... anyway that is just me
holley79 replied: This is the one I just bought for Annika Friday:
Little Tykes Cook n Learn kitchen
I looked at the exact same ones you were looking at. The Grow W/ Me one might be best for Maddie since she is still younger. I was sold on the Cook N Learn because it has talking recipes cards.
PrairieMom replied: What do you think if this one, its way smaller, but kinda similar, at least it isn't purple

We ended up getting this wood one. I like that it is out side for grilling on one side and inside stuff on the other side. We haven't put it together yet, but the reviews I have read are pretty good. I wasn't big on the plastic ones, I wanted something a little more environmentally friendly, (hope I made the right choice there) and I didn't want anything that took batteries. http://cgi.ebay.com/Kidkraft-Grill-Bake-Pl...1QQcmdZViewItem
Kentuckychick replied: oooh... I really like the one you got! Connor loves to play with our fake burgers and hot dogs and pretend he's grilling them.
There really are so many nice choices out there. I agree with you on the wood vs. plastics.
jcc64 replied: My mom and I got Corey the Pottery Barn one from a few years back- pink and white painted wood. Yes, it was much more than a plastic one, but I knew we were going to have it for years, and it also doubles as storage for alot of crap. (the fridge holds ALOT). I also didn't want anything that makes noise.
MyBabeMaddie replied: I'm obsessed with the Pottery Barn kids store, way out of my price range right now - Maybe next christmas when I'm an official RN and have a real job!
MotherForever2043 replied: I went in there one time just to look at the GORGEOUS cribs they had in there. I took one look at the price tag, and made a u-turn I think I'm going to be able to buy Jordan ONE thing in there for Christmas.
~BTW, my fav it the 3rd and 4th one
amynicole21 replied: I think we're going to get the Step 2 Lifestyle Dream Kitchen (the one in the second link of the original post). Found it at step2.com for $149.99 plus free shipping.
