Please don't say anything on FB - Need some T&P's
CantWait wrote: As if we have't been through enough the last couple years with the m/c's and issues at dh's work, now being separated and getting dinked around here with our paperwork, dh told me today that he went to the doctor last week about a growth he's had on his face for awhile, and it's skin cancer. He doesn't want me telling anyone yet, but I really can't carry this right now and need some support.
All that is racing through my mind right now is that my dad died from cancer when I was 2 months old, I don't want my little girl who we tried so hard for to relive that same fate.
On another note, this is what 16 years of military service with years in the sun gets you
He gets it removed on Thursday. I just can't stop crying today. Just when I was getting my hormones in check.
MoonMama replied: Oh marie I'm so sorry!! Hang in there!! Tons of thoughts and prayers!!
bluebear replied: My mom has had a skin cancer growth removed, and she is fine. She also had it for quite awhile. Hopefully everything was caught in time and the end result is positive!

mom21kid2dogs replied: Cancer is such scary diagnosis, especially when you've lost a loved one to it. Praying this is something that minor surgery and great sunscreen can fix!
mummy2girls replied: (((HUGS))) I am so sorry maria. I cant imagine how you feel. Hopefully it will get removed and that will be the end of that!

I am glad you could come here and talk to us, that'd be a lot to keep to yourself. Let us know how it goes on Thursday. Hopefully it will be just the one spot that needs removed and it's done. Try not to assume the worst -- I know that is hard. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers, and we're here for you.
moped replied: Marie, I am sorry you are dealing with all this, but if I can try to make you feel better I will. My FIL has had MANY skin cancer spots removed 100% successfully. And your DH will too. FIL has had no problems with them since. Other do show up and he gets it taken care of right away.........everything will be just fine....hang in there.
grapfruit replied: Oh Marie, certainly not what you need right now. He's getting it removed right away. He WILL be ok. We're all praying for you both. It was caught quickly, he'll be ok. And I'm praying extra hard that stupid paperwork hurries up and gets done for you guys.

lisar replied: Marie, I am so sorry. I am sure it will all be okay. (((HUGS)))
cameragirl21 replied: thoughts and prayers, Marie, did he say what kind of cancer? If it's basal cell carcinoma, which is the most common type, it's pretty harmless and rarely metastasizes or causes any serious damage. They are also most commonly found on the neck and face or scalp. If that's what he has, once they remove it, it's over and nothing to worry about. The one to be more worried about is melanoma, which is still treatable. Take care.
PrairieMom replied: You poor thing. And you can't even be there with him. Don't freak out. I'm sure he is going to be fine. Have it removed and go from there. one step at a time.
Calimama replied: I'm sorry. At least they caught it early.
my2monkeyboys replied: I just saw this Marie... although I'm sure the procedure has already happened, you're still in my prayers.
MommyToAshley replied: So, how is your hubby doing? Did they say when they would have the results back?
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I didn't see this till now either. I'm sorry Marie! How did it go?
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Good luck, Mama. Hope everything turns out ok. Keep us updated.
