Please keep my dad in your thoughts

3xsthefun wrote: Monday, he was working on the antenna on his house. He said that he was working on some wires got messed up from the bad storm earlier this month. He was up on a ladder all by himself. He said the ladder slipped out from underneath him, and he fell and landed on top of the ladder.

He ended up breaking the ladder and maybe cracking or bruising his ribs. He is not sure which he said he can't hardly take the pain from sitting up or standing up. My mom tried get him go to the doctor and get himself checked out. Of course he is way to hard headed for that.

He said the doctor can't do anything if his ribs are cracked. They would just put him on some pain meds. I told him that is better then suffering. He said he would just take some tyneol.

I hate to see him in pain, he didn't go to work any this week. He is afraid he is going make himself even more sore.

So, I'm asking. Please keep my dad in your thoughts, and that he heals quickly.

C&K*s Mommie replied: Stubborn, I totally understand. But as stubborn as he may be, I hope and pray that he will at least get checked out. As mentioned it may be worse than just cracked ribs, you never truly know. Prayers for him.

MamaJAM replied: I hope he can be convinced to get checked out. If he had a bad enough fall - he could be dealing with things other than slightly cracked ribs. I'll keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Hope he's better soon.

I hope he will go get checked out too. But I just know how he is. My mom might be able get him to go.

Rob said he didn't understand why he didn't go. He has insurance. Even if they can't do anything least it would give everyone little peace of mine.

Hopefully, maybe someone will knock some sense into him.

My grandma and I was talking. April must really not be a good month for my dad. He had his bad wreck last year the second weekend April and now he fell off a ladder this year.

redchief replied: Man, I'm sorry about your dad! I know I'm going to get yelled at but I agree with him. As long as there's no crepitis (feeling of broken bones moving against each other) or flail there's nothing anyone can do for his ribs. They'll just have to heal. One thing I would insist on though is this, he shouldn't ever climb a ladder without someone stabilizing it.

It don't look like he will be going to a doctor. He seems be doing a little better. He said he plans go back to work on Monday.

Ed- I sure hope this taught him a lesson and never climb on a ladder by himself anymore. I really don't know what he was thinking. I guess he gets thoughts in his head he can do all that stuff with no help.
