luvbug00 wrote: Like I mentioned before today was turkey day at Mya's school. Well all the little kids where dressed up like little pilgrems and I asked Mya teacher what they where going to be. She said well all the teachers are making the kids pilgrems and nonone is doing the native americans. I asked why and she said that it has too be politicaly correct and so no feather hat things and such. WHAT!!!! ohmy.gif so she said she hated that the native americans where not bei ng represented and so she had her kids make a bow and arrow sling and the girls had noodle necklaces. They rebeled emlaugh.gif I LOVE her teacher. they where the only nonpilgrem class!! do you think that is going a bit far not allowing the native americans be represented??

Boys r us replied: I do think it stinks!!! things are so out of whack in our "politically correct" society!

I mean...seriosously!

mckayleesmom replied: Politically correct???....What the heck....We did both when I was in school.

toady_buckshot_noodle replied: That's crazy!!! ohmy.gif

Native Americans had just as much to do with Thanksgiving as Pilgrims!! They were here first and if it had'nt been for them many would not have survived!! They should be represented!!

Sorry to get so serious!

My2Beauties replied: rolleyes.gif That is so silly!

A&A'smommy replied: That is WEIRD I can't believe they aren't letting them do that!!!

MM'sMama replied:
I agree...what the heck? wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: rolleyes.gif I would like to know how THAT is politically correct? I think it is just plain crazy.

Ashley's class did both. They made pilgrims and they made Indian feather hats as well. I think that is more politically correct if you ask me.

CantWait replied: Sounds a little crazy. We're on the other side of the fence here. All Robbie's last 2 schools seem to celebrate is Native culture and nothing else. Last year they weren't even allowed to sing the National Anthem in school because of complaints from immigrants that it wasn't "their" anthem mad.gif How frigged up is that??

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
*We need a similie here that shows my head EXPLODING!* Welcome to the U.S.A the country you came to for ,presumably, opportunity and freedom-thus you get to respect,if not celebrate, OUR customs. growl.gif I will leave it at that!

As for the no Native American depiction in Thanksgiving,I can only assume now that "politicaly correct" has become an acronym for historicaly inaccurate! wacko.gif

gr33n3y3z replied:
same here and so did my kids

moxee24 replied:
ohmy.gif I totally agree...I mean HELLOOOO, if it wasn't for the Native Americans there wouldn't be a Thanksgiving
