Pray for Cameron - He hit his head.....

CAMSMOM1 wrote: This afternoon I was taking a shower(trying to get ready for work)and Cameron was in the bathroom with me. We usually do this, and he plays with his cars while I'm in the shower. I can keep an eye on him.

Well the floor was slippery, and he was dancing around and started spinning. Then he slipped on some water, and BAM! Down he went. The sound of his head hitting the tile was so loud. I immediately jumped out and went to his rescue.

His head started to swell. He had a HUGE black and blue bruise right above his eye. Thankfully it popped out, but it got big fast. So I ran to get a ice pack, of course he wouldn't let me put it on. I gave him so Tylenol, and called my sister. (She works at a Ped. Doctors Office) She told me what signs I should look out for and when/if I should take him to the hospital. All CAmeron could do was so "Ough! Mamma!" And he kept pointing at it. Of course my DH was tripping out.

About 5 min. later he stopped crying, and was playing around. What a trooper! So I called into work, said I wasn't coming in. I wanted to stay home with him to make sure he was ok. He seems to be doing ok, but with head injuries, I wanted to keep a close eye on him.

I called Kaiser Perm. Medical Advice line, and they said he should be fine.

I just laid him down for a nap. It's been 1 1/2 hours since it happened. They told me to check up on him while he's sleeping to make sure he's fine.

When I had my 3 head concusions, they told me not to go to sleep. So I'm soooo worried about it. To top it all off, I left his baby monitor over our friends house, so I have to keep my ear to the door.

Please pray for little Cameron. He's hit his head before, and had small bumps and brusies, but nothing like this. So of course I'm paranoid, and my stomach's still in knots.

CantWait replied: I'm sure he'll be just fine. He can go to sleep, just keep your eye out for him and check on him every hour or so (I'm sure you would anyway). hug.gif hug.gif

mummy2girls replied: awwww.. ill be thinking of you guys. just rouse him every 3 hours to make sure he is ok. And if he starts to vomit and not stop take him in. Jenna did a flip out of a shopping cart a few months back and landed on the floor head first. she got a goose egg but was fine... kids are very resilient...

amymom replied: I am sure he will be fine. You are keeping a good eye on him. Take care.

CAMSMOM1 replied: Thanks everyone for the support and kind words. grouphug.gif I really needed to hear that he was going to be ok. I'm an over protective Mommy! rolleyes.gif Since I have had 3 head concusions, I worry. But he's in God's hands, and he is a strong boy. He didn't even though a big fuss, I was more upset then he was. His bump is still really big, and dark blue.

I just checked on him, he's still taking a nap. At first he wouldn't wake up when I tickled his feet. Then I shoke him, and he woke up. So I left him alone, and he went back to sleep. I'm going to check on him again in a little bit. wink.gif

Thank you for your prayers. Those go a long ways! hug.gif I'll update everyone later tonight.

amynicole21 replied: I think the worst sound in the world is that of your childs head hitting something hard. THWACK! I still hear it from when Sophia fell and knocked her head on the tile floor. sad.gif I hope Cameron is ok and doesn't get too big of a bruise. hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Bless his little heart!! wub.gif wub.gif Prayers for Cameron!! hug.gif hug.gif

There has been time after time that our girls have gotten hurt, and time after time that the nurses assured me that they would be A-OK~~ just to look for specific signs. There was a time a few months back that I thought that the signs of something more were present. It was when Kellie has fallen from the couch onto the concrete floors (we had taken the carpet up a month or so earlier and had nothing down in its place, yet), two days and two hospitals visits later I felt much better. I felt so guilty about it, that I did my best to keep my eyes dry, but the guilt was still there inside.

Anyhow, best wishes on his recovery!! hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

BTW..... you are a beautiful lady yourself, and your family is as well!!! wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif I had not seen the family pic on the siggy earlier today, I only saw the pic of your son. rolling_smile.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: Sending prayers his way! I know how scary that can be! I picked Teagan up from my In-Laws about a month ago and my MIL told me Teagan was on the rocking horse, fell off backwards and hit the back of her head on the bricks around the fireplace. I was SO worried. I called everyone and asked if they thought I should go to the ER. I was FLIPPING!!! Its so scary when your child hits their head. Im sure he will be ok though!! smile.gif

holley79 replied: Oh Ann, I am so sorry to hear that. I will keep Cameron in my thoughts and prayers. Bless his little heart. hug.gif

TLCDad replied: Sorry to hear this. He will be in my prayers.

ions_momma replied: Poor little guy!! I will be sure to keep him in my prayers!! hug.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Prayers said. I am sure he will be fine, it takes a super bad knock to get a concussion. And though the sound was awful, bathroom acoustics are really great at amplifying sounds. (Singing in the shower.)
On a side note, Love the new siggy.

You have every right to be!! Unfortunately head bumps are something to look forward to with kids. My 3 year old has already had stitches in her forehead and a slit lip. sad.gif Glad he's doing okay.
