Prayers Needed
My2Carebears wrote: I was getting ready for work this morning, when i heard Abri crying. Well i went to see what was wrong and she was saying something hurt. So I turned on her let to see what she meant and On the side of her neck is a Lump. Its not Huge, but noticeable. Its kinda of under her Ear. She says her ear doesn't hurt or throat. She has a fever of 101 and I am freaked out. Once the Dr office opens I am taking her in and Hopefully its nothing major, but Omg I am afraid it is!! Abri Hardly ever gets sick and if she does it only last a day or so. I guess it was bothering her yesterday and she never said anything to me and She told Dh while we were grocery shopping, but she can exaggreate things, So he blew it off(Of course Now he feels Terrible) Will you please pray that everything will be ok. I am trying not to show her how worried I am, Cus I don't want to upset her. I am just really scared!! I do know Strep is going around school too, and thats a possibility!
My2Carebears replied: Also.....
I called and they can't get her in til 4:20..ugh. The nurse Also wanted to give me the run around and be like are you sure you want to bring her in. I was like Uhh yea and I can't afford to sit and wait to find out if it goes away, I have to work, plus its the holiday weekend. I'd rather go in and find out its nothing big then so be it. I get so tired of the Ladies that answer the phone giving me the run around as if its nothing serious. They did that to me When We found out Angel had strep throat a few months ago... I was like and someone tried making me wait another day!!! I wish they'd Understand that Not all parents are able to stay home and I Just can't send her to daycare this way. So I will update after her appt.

DansMom replied: It sounds like her immune system is reacting to something for sure---does it seem like a swollen gland? There are lots of glands in that area. I hope it resolves quickly. Keep us posted! Poor little Abri.

jcc64 replied: I ruined a summer vacation one year with my hysteria over a lump in my middle ds's neck. I couldn't wait for the week to be over so I could get to the dr's office. In the end, it was absolutely nothing. Sometimes, a gland will swell as a response to an infection the body is fighting, but the swelling can remain long after the infection has cleared up. Months, even longer. Noah had that lump for well over a year, and I of course kept obsessing about it. My other son got one after a bee stung him in the neck, it too remained swollen for some time. I know as moms we fear the worst, but trust me, I'm sure it's just a mild infection. Learn from my neurosis if you can! Hugs!

I am a little late, you are back from the Doc by now. I hope it was nothing major, poor girl.
Sending some Hugs and Prayers. Please let us know how she is doing when you can!
