Preferred Spelling - Mama vs Momma

redplaydoh replied: I can't vote because I don't know which I'd prefer. I haven't thought about it. I like Mommy... but here it is spelled Mami. They don't use Mama or Momma when the kids are older. DH still calls his mother Mami.

Question for the Mommy folks - I like mommy now, but I figure the kids will outgrow it. Don't kids stop calling their moms this at some point? I guess my point is we are wanting the stockings to last so I don't want to put mommy on mine and then the kids make fun of it in a few years. Make any sense?

TANNER'S MOM replied: I have 4 kids who are 16 13 12 and 8 and they all still call me Momma. I think it's all they have ever called me. I don't remember being Mommie much. Always Momma and thats what I refer to myself as.

When my kids are being smarty pants..they say Mom.. but it becomes MooooooooooooooMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

To be honest, I still call my mom "mommy" and my dad "daddy" I know it probably sounds childish, but I just never got use to calling them anything else.
