Pregnant . . . . apparently!!

Josie83 wrote: Hi I just thought I would share this with you, and ask if anyone's had a similar experience! My two-and-a-half-year-old Cassie is obsessed at the minute with thinking I'm pregnant (which I'm not!)!! I really don't know where she's got it from, but she keeps lifting up my top to look at my belly, and when her dad asked her why she was doing it she said she was "trying to see mummy's baby." When Jason tried to explain to her that I don't have a baby in there, Cassie looked really confused and kept saying to him "Yes she does!" Apparently when she was with my little sister Maria, Maria's boyfriend's sister Rebecca (who's very pregnant) was there, and Maria was trying to explain to Cassie that Rebecca was going to have a baby and that Cassie used to live in my tummy. I think Cassie must have got really confused, because like I say she keeps looking at my tummy and she even told my older brother Steven "Mummy's got a baby in her tummy," scaring the wits out of my brother who thought I was pregnant again without saying anything!! Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone have any ideas about what I could do? Cassie is such a little monkey! wacko.gif Love Josie xx

MommyToAshley replied: ROFLMBO! rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif I don't mean to laugh, but that is pretty funny!

I think you are doing the right thing, just keep explaining to her that you don't have a baby in there and that Rebecca is the one who is going to have a baby. I don't know what else to suggest, good luck. That'll make for a cute story when she gets older, be sure to write it in her baby book. smile.gif

amynicole21 replied: Hee heee! That's too cute. I'm sure she'll forget about it eventually, and if not, maybe it's time to get pregnant and prove her right! rolling_smile.gif

A&A'smommy replied: When I first got pregnant my neice (actually my husbands sisters little girl biggrin.gif ) was about 15 months old and when my sil (wasn't then) was trying to tell her that there was a baby in my tummy so she went over to me and rubbed my belly and then she tried to do it to my sil and she just told her that she didn't have a baby in her tummy so she finally got it.... it was REALLY cute laugh.gif

loveydad replied: Well, nothing like that, but when my son was two, he thought for some reason I could breastfeed him. He'd climb up on me and go "Daddy's sucks??".

momof2girls replied:
LOL!!!
That is FUNNY!!! tongue.gif

momof2girls replied: Well maybe she is psychic and you will become prego! haha

Josie83 replied: She's been saying it again today! She's such a little madam! We went to see my sister Maria (who is really the cause of the trouble lol) and Cassie was telling her "my mummy's having a baby" and then she came over to me, pulled my top up and said "look, Ria, here's where the baby lives!" Of course my sister thought it was hilarious! When I tried to tell her that I didn't she gave Maria this "look" and said to her "she does, Ria, its in there!" with this big smile on her face! Now I feel really guilty telling her there isn't one, she obviously wants a baby brother or sister! I really can't get pregnant at the minute, its the most impractical time ever! My boyfriend thinks its a great idea, Cassie's definitely got daddy on her side (just for a change)! I'm getting a bit paranoid, though, I think I might do a pregnancy test to be on the safe side! Love Josie xx

MommyToAshley replied: LOL! Hmmmm, maybe Cassie DOES know something. wink.gif

paradisemommy replied: omg..that would be funny (that she knows)..do let us know how the pg test turns out!!! maybe her little brother/sister is talking to her!!! rolling_smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: Hmm, never had that one, lol. Let us know how that pg test goes wink.gif. Kids can sense the darndest things. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

loveydad replied: I thought of something else.

When Nicky was born, Tracy was only a about 15 or so months old. We could NOT CONVINCE HER that Nicky was a human. She thought he was a cat. (We'd been talking about bringing home a cat, but Ireally think she was just testing us). She'd run over to him and go "here kittty kitty" and pet him, all the time while we were trying to explain that he was a BABY. I think she just wanted attention. We'd ask her to tell someone what we had at our house now and she'd go "A kitty!"

Mistydiane replied: LOL how cute!
