Present for the mailman/person - Do you?

CantWait wrote: I just realized that this year the mailman will be bringing me presents like crazy, well not literally.

Here they deliver parcels to your door and so far he's already brought one big one, there's still 2 or 3 coming from my grandma, another 1 or 2 coming from my mom, 1 from my elf, 2 for the kids from their deers, and my secret santa gift.

That's 8-10 things.

So do you guys ever leave a gift for the postal person, and if so, what???

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I've left a small box of homemade cookies before and also a gift certificate to a local restaurant.

My3LilMonkeys replied: I do homemade cookies, although in this day and age I can imagine some mailmen might not take them for fear that someone wound poison them. sad.gif

mom2my2cuties replied: I do gift certificates to Andrew's company for these kinds of gifts smile.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I have not in the past, but maybe this yr I will.

Boo&BugsMom replied: No. It's bad enough with the list of presents we have to buy for family. We also never seem to have to same mailman for more than a month, so along with that, no.

Calimama replied: Nope.. I have never even seen my mailman. tongue.gif

Nina J replied: DH leaves the mailman beer and a gift certificate.

CantWait replied:
emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif That's a new one, I love it.

paradisemommy replied: yep..something small like cookies or cake or popcorn (store bought)...

beer..i've seen them do that for the garbage men here - just put cases out by the garbage and they pick it up as their present.. tongue.gif

CantWait replied:
frig that, we got to pay for our garbage collection here. I think they are making plenty enough. Then again, so do people that work for Canada Post. blink.gif

quinnandjacob'smom replied:
I've never seen my mailman either!

msoulz replied: when I was a kid my parents tried to give the mailman something and he refused as it could jeopardize his job if he accepted gifts. Not sure why or if that was just him. I thought it was sort of like a bribe (for what I do not know). Does this sound familiar to anyone else? blink.gif

hawkshoe replied: I do not.

sparkys2boys replied: We usually just give him a card that say thank you and Merry Christmas.

redplaydoh replied: I have in the past, something small, cookies or fudge. Now our mailperson is someone different every day. They zip up on a moped stuff the mail in and buzz off to the next set of boxes. Not really personal, so I probably won't here.

Crystalina replied:

Last year we gave our mailman a Christmas card with $20 in it. I had alot of Ebay purchases and I have such a long driveway and he's nice enough to bring my packages right to my door. Well, a couple of days later I got a card from him with the $20 in it and it said he was not allowed to accept money from me. It must just be money because he didn't mention he couldn't get other types of gifts. This year I'm going to call the post office and see what I can give him.

Kaitlin'smom replied: yes I have more so the one at work, since I have know him for 10 years now, I have done little things I think he liked the cookies the best that I homebaked. Beer never thought about that I know he would LOVE that one. laugh.gif

Cece00 replied: I never have. But we have like 3 different mailpersons, so I'd have to buy gifts for all 3 if I was going to do it. I RARELY see the mailperson but I see the UPS guy all the time...maybe I should buy HIM one, I see him 1-2 times a week.

lisar replied:
I am with her. I have never seen my mail man. I am always at work when they deliver the mail. And I have most of my main packages delivered to me here at work and my mail man is a total jerk off, that thinks he is better than everyone else. I have called and complained anonomysly but it didnt do any good. So that mail man wont be getting anything from us here at work thats for sure.

DillsMommy replied: that's a nice idea to get your mailperson something, I've never thought of that.

holley79 replied: My mailman is very sweet. I make him a huge batch of cookies each year and usually a gift cert somewhere. This year I won't be able to do the gift cert though. sleep.gif

jcc64 replied: I always give my mailman $25. I live on a mountain, it's not easy to get here in the winter- and he never makes me shovel out my mailbox- according to US Postal regulations. We also tip the garbage men, despite the fact that we pay for garbage pickup. They're not the ones getting rich, believe me.
