Proactiv - ????

MotherForever2043 wrote: Esther has a dermatoligist (sp) appointment on July 16th. I was going to talk to the doctor about Proactiv for Esther to try, but I wanted to ask you guys what you think... if it's a waste of money or if it's worth trying. Has anyone tried it? Has it worked? TIA smile.gif

HuskerMom replied: I've never tried it but I've heard that it works really well.

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm going to order some for Katie she is 13

Farelle replied: My husband uses it (or used it) and it really worked great for him. He used to get these huge.....things (I called them his second head) on his face that would not go away with anything but the proactiv helped big time!!! I think it's a lot less expensive now too. Good luck!

kit_kats_mom replied: I've been using it for a few months and my face is better for the most part. It still gets gross during PMS but it's not quite as bad as it had been. I'm not a super fan but it's ok.

maestra replied: It's the only thing I'll use. I notice if I run out and start using something else, my face gets really bad again.

Calimama replied: It works good as long as you stick with it. My sister swears by it.

paradisemommy replied: i didn't care for the proactive..it really dried my skin out and was too $$$, i am now using AcneFree which is at costco for half the price and i LOVE it..

Mommy2Isabella replied: I used it for years, and LOVED IT.

MotherForever2043 replied: Thanks everyone! wink.gif

Anthony275 replied: it works... i stopped using it since schools been out and there's a difference. it's worth it

Boo&BugsMom replied:
I have been using it for years and LOVE IT!!!!! It's the only thing that works that well on my skin, it doesn't sting, and it really isn't all that expensive because it lasts way longer then the shipment says. A little goes a long way. I tried the Acne Free and hated it. IMO, it is nothing compared to Proactiv.

DansMom replied: I've been thinking of trying it too. I wonder if its effectiveness depends on the kind of acne someone has? Some people seem to have dramatic results while others don't. I have rosacea---a prescription for Metrogel has helped my condition a bit, but I'd like to have a skincare regime that really makes a difference.

luvmykids replied: I tried the Acne Free too and it was more drying for me personally. I swear by Proactive, the only trick is consistency. You have to use it every single day.

I know results to vary by kind of acne, I know it's not as effective on cystic acne but I don't know about rosacea. They do have a 30 day money back guarantee, even if the bottles are empty, so it might be worth a shot!
