Pull up vs. diapers - any difference?

moped wrote: Jack is day training but wearing a diaper for bed time - so other than price, what is the big difference between diapers and pull ups???

stella6979 replied: Aside from the fact that pull ups, pull up, and diapers need to be fastened, I really don't see any difference.

moped replied:
they still absorb the same?

luvmykids replied: Pretty much what Stella said, the pull ups are more like underwear. Also, some brands of pull ups don't refasten, which I hated so I bought the more expensive ones for that reason alone.

stella6979 replied:
Hmmm....that I don't know, but I would think so. Sorry, I'm not much help. sad.gif

luvmykids replied: I think so, we used them well before they were pt'd and never had leaks.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Same thing IMO. We're using diapers at night too Jen. Or like right now, which is naptime, I put Wil's underwear on with training pants over top (a cloth diaper with vinyl on the outside). I got them at Target.

My3LilMonkeys replied: The only real difference we found was how they were put on - we used them for night training because if Brooke woke up to go potty it worked just like undies.

Farelle replied: I only use the pull-ups at night too bc they are just easier than having to re-fasten a diaper....several times!! Doh!!!!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Just the price and the way to put them on.

We bought the store brand when we bought them. We only did buy one or two packs though. You're better off with the thick undies and the plastic cover, IMO.

Boo&BugsMom replied: As far as a difference in aiding the training process...none. I did use pull ups for Tanner for a short time. That was because he outgrew the biggest size diaper by the time he was 2 years old...he has wide hips. The diapers were giving him cuts into his hips. By that time too I was changing him standing up because he was/is such a big boy. The pull ups made it easier. I never used them for training purposes though.

Mommy2BAK replied: Blakely is completely potty trained now, and I think it's because we decided after a while to just completely skip the pull up stage, I found them to be more expensive and less absorbant than regular diapers. And I think that pull-ups have a bigger competetition these days since diapers now have velcro, whereas before they were sticker sides and once you took them off they wouldn't really stick back on, ya know?
