Question about Dreft

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I have to use Dreft because Wil has really sensitive skin and I've always found it to work. But I was at Target yesterday to pickup a new bottle and noticed that Target makes their own baby detergent, in which they say to compare to Dreft. It was almost $3 less, but I stuck to Dreft because I know it works.

Has anyone used the Target brand baby detergent?? I don't want to go back, but I love to save money!

coasterqueen replied: I'm having the same feelings as you on this, lol. Megan's got sensitive skin and I'm afraid to try any other brand since Dreft works. I only used Dreft for Kylie for the first few months. Dreft is so darn expensive and I'm going through it like crazy. I wanted to either try the Target brand or All's dreft-like brand. Although I smelled the All dreft-like brand and it didn't smell as good as Dreft does. Not sure if Target's brand smells like Dreft or not.

Dh said we'll wait til she's 6 months then try a cheaper brand. Not sure why 6 months but I said ok. rolleyes.gif

boobies4virtue replied: Never used the Target brand, but I have used the All Baby Care and I love it. Quite a bit cheaper, too.

mckayleesmom replied: Im allergic to dreft and I LOVED the target brand kind....it smells soo good.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I have never used Dreft with Logan. He also has very sensitive skin and eczema. But so do I and the only detergent I can use is All Free and Clear. It works really great and Logan doesn't have any problems with it. Of course, it is scent free so there isn't any good smell.

~KARA~ replied: Never used/tried Dreft! My mom had to use Purex for my brother cause it dosent have enzymes in it, and thats what caused my lil brother to break out. My kids break out if I use anything other than purex.

dolfinrse replied: I use the baby All and love it. With Zack I used Dreft and liked that too, but like the All better wink.gif

toothytracie replied: I use Dreft also. I tired All Baby and Olivia had some bumps and I stopped using it. Found out later it wasn't that but I am still afraid to use it again. I didn't really care for it also.

I guess since one poster could use Target Brand and not Dreft then it must not be the same. I always wonder about that.

ediep replied: have you checked the ingredients to see how similar they are? I used dreft until jason was about 1 year old, then I switched to whatever detergent I buy for us.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I tried to look, but you know how hard it is to have a baby in the cart and really focus on anything else? I wish I had though.

Bri, glad to know it does smell good because I like how Dreft smells.

Idaho_boo, we use All free too, for DH and I, so maybe I should just start using that for Wil too...would make it so much cheaper. I get a large one at Sam's!

.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
I just figured with no scent or color and if I can use it, then Logan probably could too. We've never had any problems with it. wink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I think I may try it once I'm done with my new bottle of Dreft! I don't notice Wil breaking out when he lies on our sheets or snuggles up against my clothes! Thanks!

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: You're welcome. My name is Kelly by the way.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Oh good, thanks Kelly! thumb.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Glad to meet you. Even though I guess we met about a month ago.

jdkjd replied:
Ditto here. The dreft was getting too expensive so I started using the All Free and Clear and haven't had any problems.

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
I use All Baby and I like it a lot. If I compare the smell to Dreft I admit Dreft smells better but I really can't affort to spend 10 dollars on one jug of detergent that will only last me about a month. And All Baby does smell good too and it works good - I only have a couple tiny poopie stains and they're only because I didn't wash it right away or pre-treat it with the all baby. thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks Sara. I might just try it. We don't have $10 to spend on it either and I'm going through one every 2 weeks! ohmy.gif I will definitely try the All brand.

BTW, Baby Oxy (only seen it at BRU) works AWESOME at getting poopy stains out and that's even after it sets in from being dried. I've only have 1 outfit not come out after one soaking it. I'll have to try it again.

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Ooh I've seen that at Target and I want to get some. It's only 4 dollars so I should pick some up. thumb.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Wow! Dreft is about $8 at Target here! Still expensive, but not $10. The Target brand was $5 something. Wil is not an infant anymore, so I guess I'm not washing as much, but I realized I've only gone through maybe three Dreft bottles this whole year!!! That's pretty good I think. You all are thinking....ewwww, she never washes, but I do. We have one of those front load washers that I think take less detergent.

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
I probably use too much detergent - I should try to cut down. blush.gif But I still couldn't afford to use Dreft! tongue.gif At my target the target brand dreft and all baby are both 4.69 or something like that so almost 5 dollars.
