Question about hospital bag

Danalana wrote: Okay, I'm gonna be packing soon, and I don't wanna pack a lot of useless things. They gave me a list when we went to childbirth class, which is helpful.
I was wondering if there were things you packed and ended up not even using. I know not everyone's alike, but this might help me think of things that I probably wouldn't need. I know me, and I will try to bring everything that isn't bolted down.
Thanks!

lisar replied: I remember I took to much. I had my laptop, books, magazines. And Raygen was in the NICU and not even in the room with me and I had way to much stuff.

Danalana replied: Ooooooh, my laptop! I didn't even think of that!
Ummmmm, Lisa, you're having the reverse affect on me. The idea was for me to take LESS stuff emlaugh.gif

grandma replied: Less is always better! If you really need something, you probably already thought of it.......You'll be fine!

Danalana replied: The ladies on my pregnancy board have confused me. I swear, you would think some of them are going to be getting ready for a pageant immediately after having the baby! I understand wanting to look good and all that, but some of their lists are so long I don't see how they will be able to get all that stuff in a bag tongue.gif I can put on mascara and feel like a completely new woman, so I definitely won't have to have a lot of that stuff. But even some of the basic stuff might be things nobody really uses. On the other extreme is a woman who is only taking her hygiene stuff and using hospital stuff for everything else laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I ended up using everything i took (do you think they have wireless for the patients? I'm hoping they do)... but I honestly can't remember what all I took wink.gif

Danalana replied: I sure hope they do...it seems like most places do, nowadays.

A&A'smommy replied:
I know but whats weird is that DCH does NOT have internet available to patients but my local hospital (crappy little hospital) does ohmy.gif You will let me know if they do??

Danalana replied: Yes! I will find out ASAP!
I hope they do, cause now I have my heart set on it...

A&A'smommy replied:
I think I'm going to ask tomorrow I turning in my registration papers I will try and remember to ask

btw I'm about to send you a message to ask you a few questions cool.gif

Mommy2Isabella replied: We had about 10 min. to get a hospital bag together. I took hygene< SP stuff, and a nursing bra and 2 night gown things. We brought clothes for him ... but they wouldn't let us dress him until he was moved to a bassinet from the open isolete thingy ... and that was after we had gone home ...

My3LilMonkeys replied: I think the only thing I really took that I didn't use was a book. I had absolutely NO down time to read in - there was always someone there when I wasn't sleeping.

The one thing that was a lifesaver for me was a deck of cards. DH was there allll day long and we could only talk for so long before we started boring each other, so while the baby slept we would play cards. emlaugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
hey thats an awesome idea!!!! thumb.gif thumb.gif
