Question for moms...TMI - I need to know, please help! :(

That's exactly what I thought about mine when I saw whatever it was. It looked like wet toilet paper and had the consistancy of toilet paper also.

I had a lot of white to yellowish cottage cheese like discharge over a span of about half an hour...and then I passed something about half an inch in length that was whitish and resembled toilet paper.

So I'm not sure if that was it or not...if it was I am thinking it might have resulted from my doctor checking me for dilation just two days before.

So my question is for those of you that have lost your plugs...was it at all like toilet paper??? I just thought it was such a weird thing that the other lady described it exactly as I thought it to be.

What do you think?

MommyToAshley replied: I wish I knew, but I never noticed when I lost mine. I am sure that is what it was though... and this is about the right time for you to lose your plug.

TANNER'S MOM replied: I don't know that I can help you, but I gave birth to 3 children, and snot is what best descriped mine! Sorry that sounds gross I know. But call your doctor if you need some reassurance!

kit_kats_mom replied: Mine fell out in two parts, 24 hours before labor started. It was like a giant blob of snot that sunk to the bottom of the toilet quickly. It wasnt' blood tinged or anything and I guess that it could have looked like toilet paper. It felt pretty funky coming out too. EW!

Can I just say that for some reason the mucus plug is the one part of pregnancy that makes me want to gag? Thinking about it, talking about it, seeing it....Blech!

GavinsMommy replied: Hehe. Yeah, my husband threw up when he saw it. So I know it was SOMETHING...other than normal discharge, just not sure what!

I called my doc's number in the middle of the night to ask about it and some lady had a doctor on call call me back. I thought it was my doctor but it couldn't have been. He was VERY rude. He told me it was urine and made me feel stupid. I know what urine looks like!

Boys r us replied: Sorry, I never lost mine with either of my pregnancies prior to labor...well with Tanner, I never noticed if I did my water broke at 37 weeks and I had no signs of labor onsetting prior to waking up one morning and getting out of the bed and feeling that pop and then water gushing out.

With Braedon I was induced, so it hadn't come out yet prior to being put into labor.

jcc64 replied: I don't remember losing mine with my most recent pg. With the 2nd, I think it was still 2 weeks after I lost the plug until I went into labor. Can't remember the 1st , too long ago I guess.
It looked like a blob of, I don't know, flavorless gelatin, how's that girls??
I think we as women get all worked up about the plug, thinking it is the starting gun of immediate labor. I'm sure you've been told it can be as soon as 24 hrs or as long as a few weeks. Trust me, you'll know. Try to relax in the meantime and enjoy the last few days of uninterrupted sleep.

internal. Had to go to the hospital at 11am to get checked had my son at 6:22

paradisemommy replied: i lost mine a week or two prior and it was a mucousy white blob..and it had a pinkish tinge..i called the ask a nurse hotline from my ins. and the nurse was so totally sweet and cool - said it sounded just like my plug and that it could be at least another 2 weeks before i actually have the baby..perfectly normal and she told me - if you can talk through a contraction - more than likely it's a bh..
