Question for those who co-sleep? - Kind of personal...
Heather wrote: And you dont' have to answer I was just wondering. I am very new to the whole co-sleeping thing...I was just wondering...when do you DO IT? I haven't gotten creative just yet...so any tips would be great!!
kit_kats_mom replied: Um, how about never? LOL J/K....Sorta. DD will sleep in her crib before we come to bed so the sofa bed has become our new best friend. We have resorted to putting her in her doorway bouncer in front of a baby einstein video a few times too. That buys us a half hour. Basically you just have to be very efficient.
supermom replied: Believe me, you will (get creative, that is) - nap times, weekend afternoons - (Afternoon delight! - giggle) and then when they get a little older, if you're lucky, they will sleep in their bed long enough for you to enjoy each other at night at regular bedtime......
However, I was very lucky, and when we got really "desperate" for some 'alone time' we'd send the teenagers out the door with the little one for dinner out!! I paid for dinner, but didn't pay them to sit - I've got excellent older kids!!
booey2 replied: Well we co-slept with ds #1 and we still managed to have ds#2. We have a spare bedroom in the basement and that was great to have. Also now with the 2 boys you grab any spare time you have and get real creative.
Schnoogly replied: Hmmm the answer would be NOT OFTEN. I think we've done it 5-6 times since Iain was born. But he isn't good about sleeping on his own. We actually did it last night!!!! I took Iain up to bed around 8:30 and stayed with him till 9 when I was sure he would sleep a while and then we went to the spare bed in my office with the baby monitor. Our bed is against the wall and almost on the floor (low futon frame) with a comforter on the floor so if he managed to roll that far he would be OK. Of course he woke up screaming as soon as we were done! (At least he waited that long!)

booey2 replied: They have a great sense of things going on around them. Thank goodness he let you have some you time.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well...for starters...are you flexible?
DH and I have pretty much only had quickies since Zach was born. I'd get home from work, DH would get home with the baby from daycare, we'd put him in his swing, get busy in the next room (whichever that happened to be) and hope he was entertained for the time being...
Now he's pretty good about sleeping, but we still do things quickly, becuase if he wakes up, that's it for us. We don't resume when he falls back asleep, it's almost too much effort...
I'm guessing you're shy to make love in front of your child, or if she's near? Well...when he's awake and we want some nookie bad enough... I'll put Zach on the bed with some toys (it's in a corner, so against 2 walls), kneel beside it, and DH gets behind... then Zach doesn't actually see, and we're right there if he starts moving around too much on the bed. Too much info, sorry!! lol!!!
Mommieto2Girls replied:
OMG you didn't , lol that was to tempting. hehehehehehehe
Well I have to admit we put her in her crib and let her play and just hide under the covers, but usually we just put her in her swing. I get it more now than before baby.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: OMG *I DID*. rofl!!! many many times!!!
We were *dressed*...there was just enough *space* under my skirt and DH's fly. kwim? rofl!
I get it less now that before...just because I don't WANT it as much now. I'm ultra sensitive (I'm pg) and sex is just too much sometimes.

LMAO, OMG your killing me. That's to funny. hehehehehe
Kaitlin'smom replied:
thanks for the smile!
I guess if you want it bad enough! Sounds like something we might try........
mckayleesmom replied: lol, our sex life has never really changed at all. The only thing that has changed for me is sex is alot better now not being pregnant,,,it was still great pregnant, but I guess I didn't realize that it even changed, but about 2 weeks after Mckaylee was born, we were back at it, and the first time it hurt a little but got better and then really better and I realized that having sex after her felt like sex before her and I never realized that it felt different. Anyways, we are really lucky cause mckaylee is a good sleeper we have time for the whole shabang, forplay, sex and cuddling afterwords. And sometimes massages before. My husband thinks he needs it all the time, if he skips a couple days and refuse his advances he makes jokes about lack of sex being grounds for a good divorce cause its physical abuse...lol....hes such a dork..when I was pregnant and for some reason didn't feel like doing the deed,,,we would bargain with each other....If I got a massage, then he got sex....lol....that way we were both happy..

hehehehe, I still bargain just to get the free massage.
supermom replied: ROFL - yes, we've also done it with Anders asleep in the bed - lol -
And here you thought we'd all be too shy to answer - ROFLMAO!!
Mommieto2Girls replied: I could never do "IT" with Maddie in the bed , to scared all the movement might throw her right off the bed. LMAO,
Kaitlin'smom replied: you gals are funny!
supermom replied: ROFLMAO - Well, let's just say with Anders actually in the bed, we're a little less adventurous..........but it works in a pinch!!
mckayleesmom replied: I know this sounds stupid,,,but I don't do it anywhere she can see us cause with my luck 20 years from now she will have hypnosis or something and remember mommy and daddy having sex....lol
Mommieto2Girls replied: mckayleesmom Posted on Jun 5 2003, 03:25 PM
Agh, can you imagine, lol
Kaitlin'smom replied: eeekkkk thats one image I am glad i never had of my parents and sure dont want Kaitlin to have!
supermom replied: OMG!! I never thought of that - well, if that's the case, he'll probably have some GOOD stories to tell!!
Schnoogly replied: It does feel kind of creepy--we don't do it in the bed w/him because ANY movement or noise would wake him up. Plus the idea creeps me out a little. We have done it on the floor next to the bed on a blanket (rugburn, OUCH!) where he couldn't see us!

MommyToAshley replied: Good thing we don't co-sleep. LOL.
