Question - what do you think

I think having them to high bc if you dont meet them you wont be hard on yourself
A&A'smommy replied: expectations too high!!!! its a BIG let down when you don't meet them!!!
very good question Lisa!!
coasterqueen replied: Wow, that's a tough one for a Monday afternoon Lisa. I'll have to think about it.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I think it depends on the situation....................
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I think being let down really bites..but I think to have NO expectations in life would lead to bad all around.
When you have expectations you usually work toward them..and even when you don't met your goal there's a lesson to be learned there.
Even our children have to learn, you can't win'em all right?
moped replied: I don't know, on one hand it is the glass is half empty and the glass is half full.....I always set mine low and Tom says I am negative.........
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Who cares which as long as it's booze, right?
lol
JK!
I think to have decently high expectations is healthy - but they need to be realizstic, and people need to not be too anal and give a little when other people don't meet their expectations.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: That is a hard one...But I think I'm with Mel though. Not having any expectations seems like you wouldn't be at all interested in anything. Like someone who is a slacker, for lack of a better word. Someone who has no inspiration or just says "whatever happens" to just about anything. I hope no one takes offense to that. But I just feel that you need to set some expectations for yourself so that you actually move AHEAD in life, kwim? To me, an expectation can be seen as a goal. But yeah, setting expectations too high can be a downfall too....Ugh, that's a hard question Lisa!
gr33n3y3z replied: exactly just as long as our children want to set those standards for themselves and not as parents setting those for them
luvmykids replied: I think for me, its worse to have no expectations. If you have high expectations and don't meet them, you've at least gotten somewhere by trying to reach them. Without any expectations I think I'd wander aimlessly and never know if I'd accomplished anything.
gr33n3y3z replied: I know bc I set them high for myself but not to high I know I came across these questions on the net and thought I would share here
Calimama replied: Exactly!!
TheOaf66 replied: definitely if they are high you set yourself up for disappointment
luvbug00 replied: setting them too high. as for reasons previously listed.
CantWait replied: Having none at all. Having no expectations to me means you don't expect greatness from yourself.
stella6979 replied: I couldn't agree more!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Ditto for me!
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I think having NONE is worse than having some that are too high....There is a scripture in the Bible that says "where there is no vision the people parish" I think you should reach for greatness but be satisfied when you know you tried your hardest to make it work
hoosier momma replied: Exactly what I was thinking, but couldn't make it sound right aloud.
Edited to add: very well said Abbie
