Quincy is awfully demanding - for a bird.

mckayleesmom wrote: Whenever she wants out of her cage....she will just start squacking her little tushy off.....Man....drives me nuts. Sometimes she even hangs on the side and kind of shakes the cage.......I GET THE POINT.... dry.gif

BAC'sMom replied: What kind of bird is it?

mckayleesmom replied:
a little quaker parrot

They are awesome pets....but they do have a personality all their own. When the kids fight..she squacks with them. When she wants out...she squacks. When she hears cartoons she likes...she squacks and sings. When I dicipline the kids...she squacks at me (I think she is yelling at me)....

Its almost like having a 3rd child.... laugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: ROFL thats too funny!!! I'm kinda scared of birds so I don't think I could have one but they are SO cute!!!

MoonMama replied:
I've never seen one of those is she cute?

That is too funny. rolling_smile.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: That is funny! Are you still getting the rottie pup?

mckayleesmom replied:
Yes...they are still young yet...Probably 2 more weeks...The mom had 11 puppies....that is alot for a rott.

redchief replied: Parrots are very high maintenance pets. They need almost as much attention as a child, as you've already perceived. If they don't get enough attention, they'll start pulling out their feathers and get lethargic.

luvmykids replied:
Yup, and the bigger the bird the more attention they need. Cockatoos have been said to have the equivalant of a 2yo's mind ... And it's been proven that many species of birds have emotional capabilities very similar to humans too.

BAC'sMom replied:

IMO birds are worse than children!
We have had birds all my live. My Mom has 1 blue and gold macaw, 2 sulfur crested cockatoos (male and female), a quaker conure, cockatiels, and parakeets. They all have there own little personality. Up until 3 years ago I had a african grey but he died. sad.gif

holley79 replied: Oh yea, parrots are just like having a child. I told DH I wanted a McCaw. My best friend use to have one that practically lived with me after I moved out of parents house. I loved that bird.

You need to post pics Bri. Didn't know you were getting a Rotten, I mean Rottie. emlaugh.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Thanks for the heads up....guess we're never getting a bird.

mckayleesmom replied:
Don't get me wrong...I love her and she is awesome with the kids....She just gets kind of bossy sometimes. She is a big part of our family now....heck...I take just as many pictures of her as I do the kids...

I just can't upload them at the moment because my cord isn't working.
