Repeller (aka mosquito ringtone) - have you heard it??

C&K*s Mommie wrote: Teens Turn 'Repeller' into Adult-Proof Ringtone

If you want to 'listen' to the repeller ringtone, there is a link just beneath the title entitled LISTEN, or there is a link called >>Here the Teen buzz... if you are able

It sounded like someone had the volume down but turned on a tv, to me. blush.gif One aggravating sound, IMO. dry.gif

luvmykids replied: Last week when I took the kids to the summer movie thing, someone near us kept their phone on and it rang off the hook, and that was the ringtone! blink.gif It drove me absolutely crazy!! growl.gif A few people asked her to turn it off and she said "It's a kids movie for petes sake, I'll take a call if I want to!" growl.gif

Fine, just answer before I have to listen to 20 seconds of that awful sound!!

C&K*s Mommie replied: The sound is almost worse than metal scraping concrete to me. wacko.gif

I guess that means we are younger than we think we are, if the sound is meant for young people's ears, eh? And we can still hear it...even though you did not want to hear it the other day. mad.gif

luvmykids replied:
It's not as undercover as they think it is! I think I'm pretty sensitive to those types of noises, I always think I hear stuff like that anyway, but may not have realized it was her phone except that everytime I heard it she looked at her caller id. My grandpa used to tease me that he could call me with a dog whistle.

redchief replied: Neither Lisa or I could hear it. Erin had to tell us what it sounded like. I add she was quite amused.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I saw this on Good Morning America this morning

TheOaf66 replied: I was glad I was not the only one who could not hear it

kit_kats_mom replied: ok. was there really a sound there cause I didn't hear anything. ohmy.gif

wait. I heard it when I just did the "listen" to the sound only but not on the NPR version. hrumph dry.gif

DVFlyer replied: I can hear it... just barely, but the voices in my head tell me to ignore it. biggrin.gif

redchief replied:
Don't listen to the voices. They're evil. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I could not hear it with the Listen link through Real Player or WMP, but I heard it again through the second link.... still an aggravating sound. dry.gif

I think I will stick with my favorite songs being played as a ringtone.

MichaelsMommy replied: I couldn't hear a thing - like silence.. nothing. So weird. I tried a few times too.

ashtonsmama replied: ACK. Would drive me up the wall.
wacko.gif

redchief replied: Okay... the family have all taken part in the experiment. The results are:

Rick can hear it clearly through the house.
Erin already told us she can hear it.
It hurts Kaitlin's ears.
Will (Erin's boyfriend) can hear it clearly across the room.
Lisa can hear it on Rick's computer if she puts her ear against the speaker and moves back and forth, but can not hear it on mine.
I can't hear it in any form or format.

C&K*s Mommie replied: it is still weird, that some adults are less likely to hear it vs the younger population. huh.gif if you know that familiar sound that resonates through your ears when someone turns on a tv, but has the volume down... then multiply that by 10 & you will have a very distinct, but eerie sound that may not leave your ears for a few minutes. My ears seemed to tingle after a few seconds of listening, and thereafter for a few minutes. wacko.gif

redchief replied: dunno.gif

luvmykids replied:
Well now I feel less weird for being able to hear it in the movie theatre!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Okay guys that hurt. Then again I can actually hear a dog whistle. How annoying. Jade was like what is that mommy.

luvbug00 replied: I didn't hear a thing yet my ear hurts... dry.gif

BTW Monica there is this wonderful teen repellent called mase! emlaugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: NO WAY could I stand that noise as a ringtone! It hurt my ears.
