SHEETZ - chicken logo
boyohboyohboy wrote: For the last few weeks, the Sheetz gas station has posted a "frickin chicken" sign and buttons on their employees to advertise this new chicken sandwich that they want to market. does anyone else find this offensive? I mean lets get real, we all know that the "fricken" is only slang for one thing. It is not a real word in the dictionary. I just think its very irresponsible for a reputable chain to post, as well as inappropriate. what do you think?
moped replied: well yes a bit odd......I personally use that word ALOT, but I wouldn't name chicken after it
Our Lil' Family replied: We have a restaurant named Fricken Chicken....I don't mind it.
ETA: Would you expect anything less from a company named Sheetz though? We don't have that here so I'm not positive of what it is but sounds like it goes hand in hand with Fricken Chicken!
boyohboyohboy replied: I absolutely do mind it. I think that it is just a slang term for one of the most vulgar words that there is.
ZandersMama replied: The local chicken place here is called "Lick a Chick"
I'm not even joking. So fricken chicken doesnt seem all that bad to me.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Funny how the most vulgar word is also the most versatile in the english language.
I think it's kind of cute. Lick a Chick is a heck of a lot more vulgar, in my opinion.
boyohboyohboy replied: It amazes me what is becoming more and more acceptable in this culture.. I dread what its going to be like in 20 yrs...I keep wondering if my own kids are going to stand for, and even my grand kids..
Anthony275 replied: i hope people dont buy it
also...its only in select states. its named after the guy who founded it, his last name is sheetz
sparkys2boys replied: OH MY!!
Crystalina replied: Lick A Chick? Yikes. I guess that's better then other rhyming words.
We just got a Sheetz last year. I've not seen the buttons or chicken ads yet though.
Kaitlin'smom replied: we have a Frickers that uses Fricken alot with chicken, like Fricken chicken chunks, I can see where it ofends some I guess they are tring to be clever. as for the Lick a Chick well.....umm I can even think of the right words to say....creepy
holley79 replied: Well I have a potty mouth so I say frickin all the time. I guess it kind of goes with Sheetz. I think Lick a Chick is a little more offensive imo.
luvbug00 replied: Wow those are both so cleaver! I love it!
I'm just the opposite in my opinon it amazes me what is censored. I dread how prude and politicaly corret socity is going to get. Wiether my kids will be able to express themselves. Already they censor way too much and politically correct everything and i hate it.
CantWait replied: I think they're all funny, however I could see how it's a bit offensive. Really though I think it's just catchy advertising and not meant to be offensive and hurtful.
