Sad Day

Dennis was a fabulous man and a wonderful person, full of life and stories of his adventures and I will miss him. The sad part is that he retired less than a month ago. I wish he had retired sooner so he could have golfed and fished more. Life is too short, I am eating dessert first today, in honor of my friend, Dennis.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I will enjoy it. This has hit everyone here today rather hard. But he was kind of like my mentor when I first started here. And when I was pregnant, he used to say to me when I arrived for work, "Hey there little Mama." I'll also miss hearing him call me Kelly-Girl.

This reminds me of a verse in the book of Psalms 39: 4-5

" Lord, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away. My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath. And so Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you."

Life is short and we are only here for a brief time. But Dennis sounds like a man that was full of life, enjoyed his life, and lived it to the fullest. I pray that he is resting peacefully. And that you will be comforted during this time.

I ate an ice cream cone today, and was thinking of this. Just a reminder on how precious life is. And to give everyone we love hugs & kisses today.

As someone who's had (and still has) way too much cancer in her family....I can very much feel their pain.
