Scarecrow competition - pictures! :)
grapfruit wrote: Ok, our town's "downtown" committee is having a Scarecrow Competition. Each downtown business gets the opportunity to enter a scarecrow. We decided to go a little further and decorate the entire window w/the Wizard of Oz theme. Here's a few pictures of what we have. It's not traditional Wizard of Oz, the scarecrow is modeled after a friend (picture at bottom).
Also in the window will be some red shoes, and dog treats and a witch hat (to signifiy the characters).
Ok what do you guys think???
Crows (gotta scare away something!):

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Just now saw it. Very cute. How about Dorothy and Toto?
grapfruit replied: We're putting red shoes in the window for Dorothy and some dog biscuits for Toto...
Do you think that's enough?? Also, a witch hat for the witch...
coasterqueen replied: Ahh I think it's great!!!! You are so much more creative than me. What about having a yellow brick road?
BTW, do you work for Am Fam? Just wondering.
momofone replied: Great! Very creative!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: That is very cute!! Great job ladies!!
grapfruit replied: Good idea, may cut some "bricks" out of yellow paper....
We're also putting up some corn too, for a corn field.

redchief replied: Neat idea... more creative than I could ever be. One question... what's the heart for?
Calimama replied: Awesome idea! I think a yellow brick road and red shoes will help people understand that it's the wizard of oz.
gr33n3y3z replied: great work I like it
MommyToAshley replied: Very cute!
Good luck... what do you get if you win?
My3LilMonkeys replied: I was wondering that too....the scarecrow was looking for a brain, the tin man for a heart....or am I really confused?
A&A'smommy replied: very cool!!!
grapfruit replied: We we had to use duct tape. And thought that might be a neat way to incorporate it in the "design" That one was Cyndi's idea actually!
If we win (fingers crossed!) we get a 1/4 page ad in the local newspaper and a trophy!!
grapfruit replied: No you're right! It's not EXACT WoO (obviously, that scarecrow didn't have a beard)
Boo&BugsMom replied: The scarecrow's hilarious! Love it!
