Seriously - HOw do you people do it - eating
moped wrote: I mean really, I have admitted that my diet isn't great considering I am nursing, but I never find the time - I go all day long - doing what? I don't know. I mean for example today, I hard boiled some eggs at noon and my aunt came over at 4 and asked what the eggs were sitting in the pot for and not in my tummy - UGH - I FORGOT!!!! I always eat a good dinner and try to eat all day, but that doesn't always happen.
I mean I am not wasting away but have lost quite a bit of weight and not the right way......
SO how do you all make sure you eat enough in a day, especailly people that have 6 kids Mollie?
Boys r us replied: Don't have that problem..I wish I did..lol!!! but when I was nursing Allie, I was always hungry. Now that I'm done nursing her I guess I eat out of boredom and habit! Why don't you just make it a habit to eat when Jack does?
HuskerMom replied: My problem is I eat when I'm bored. I forget to eat a meal once in a while, I wish I'd forget more often!
moped replied: So you get bored with 2 kids that young?
I must not manage my time well - I haven't been bored in years....well 4 actually!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Same here. I'm always hungry - I've been even hungrier the past few days because I've been cutting out sweets and eating smaller meals and my body just isn't used to it yet.
Kentuckychick replied: I used to do that a lot when I nannied. I would look at the clock after putting the baby down for a nap, putting away all the toys and emptying the dishwasher only to realize it would be 3:00 in the afternoon and I'd eatin nothing all day long and the other kids would be home from school any moment. Then I'd shovel in some sort of unhealthy snack and go back to working.
Now I barely get lunch breaks at all. I usually run over to the main hospital and grab my lunch and bring it back to the room and then I attempt to eat it while burping one baby over my knee in between bites, holding a bottle in the other hand for another baby and swinging the swing or bouncing the bouncer with my toes. All the while singing or cooing or clucking my tongue between bites in attempt to keep the babies happy... it's so much fun! lol
moped replied: Yep that is about right!
luvmykids replied: I'm terrible about eating regularly. I do most of it at night, either when we eat together or after the kids are in bed...I hate not being able to relax and enjoy my food
I'm like you, I can go all day and just be too busy to realize I haven't eaten. I try to eat when I feed Macie but most days I only stop long enough to get her lunch and still don't do it.
moped replied: DOn't get me wrong, I am enjoying buying much smaller clothes and being high school weight again, but I need to do it in a better way
HuskerMom replied: During nap time I get bored! They tend to nap at the same time most days.
moped replied: Oooooo I don't think I will ever get that. The way it is now, Jack will go for quiet time at 1 and Laila faithfully wakes up at 1, then she will go back down around 3 and Jacks quiet time is over at 3
A&A'smommy replied: Try eating all your meals together that will make a BIG difference.. I wish I was more like that well maybe not right now but OMG I'm STARVING at meal times
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: Holy cow -- You're high school skinny? Dang girl! My sister and I always joke about how we'll never be 'high school skinny' again.
I remember when Abby was first born,,,for the the first few months I was so busy that I wouldnt eat until 2:00 in the afternoon....BUT.......then I was so hungry I'd eat what ever was the quickest,,,which usually ended up being not the best choice. It took me 18 months to get back to my prepregnancy weight after her even though I wasnt eating alot-- just eating the wrong stuff.
When Laila gets a little older and things calm down a bit,, you'll probably start eating more and then you'll kick yourself for ever making this post! LOL
Calimama replied: I'm horrible about that. I eat maybe one meal a day at around 6pm. It's such a BAD habit.
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: oh my -- I remember THOSE days! Sam was down to one long nap which was right in between Abbys two short naps.
kimberley replied: i forget to eat often. something i am trying to change. my only reminder is when it's 5pm and i start getting a hunger headache.
i am trying to eat breakfast and lunch more. if there's a meal i can skip, it should be dinner.
moped replied: Welll I have tried to make an effort today - it is 12:30 and so far i have had:
A bowl of cheerios 2 hard boiled eggs yogurt Granola bar 2 chicken strips from jacks lunch and a couple Oreo cookies
Gosh that is more than a whole day usually......
Sam & Abby's Mom replied: yum -- sounds good!
MommyToAshley replied: I used to skip meals before I had Ashley, but now we all just eat together. And, of course I make sure that she gets three meals and a healthy snack every day.... so do I then. Maybe if you eat when you feed Jack then you won't forget.
However, I need to go back to skipping meals, I think.
bawoodsmall replied: Just try to make the effort when Jack eats. Put laila in a swing or something. I was actually better about eating when I nursed because I felt I had to be more aware since I was nursing.
My2Beauties replied: I always eat lunch around the same time every day since I work outside the home and get a lunch, but I find that when I'm home on the weekends all day with the kiddos, I normally don't eat until the afternoon myself. You just lose track of time.
Chiflata2003 replied: I eat when I'm bored sometimes, but my biggest problem is portion control. I can eat tons of spaghetti so my biggest problem is sticking with the actual portion sizes.
