Shamelessly soliciting a pat on the back

big pat on the back!
booey2 replied: Congrats to you, giving up smoking is just as hard as trying to lose weight.
Way to go.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: WAY TO GO AMY! CONGRATULATIONS! Keep up the awesome work, I'm so proud of you! My DH recently quit, so I know how difficult it can be ! Here's a suggestion that helped him quit, he used lollipops as a distraction for his mouth and hands. Everytime he had a craving he would pull out a lollipop! It was very funny to see a grown man with a lollipop in his mouth, but it's been 6 weeks for him!
kimberley replied: great job!!!! one more week and the hard part is over. good luck and keep us posted!
jen replied: WTG AMY!!! You deserve a pat on the back!!!! I know how tough it is first hand!!!! I was a smoker for 10 years too. Just take it one day at a time!
DansMom replied: I congratulate you heartily! Don't give in to any little addiction monsters that whisper in your ear. I smoked for 18 years, and it was such a relief when I finally realized I didn't have to remember to make sure to have enough cigarettes on hand, make sure I have lighter/matches available, and to be able to attend social functions without sneaking off to "get something from the car", or getting restless and unfocused when the cravings hit. I am much more focused at work and socially once the cravings subsided (and they will!). I still enjoy a cigarette in dreams once in a while though LOL!
coasterqueen replied: That is wonderful Amy! Congratulations and a HUGE pat on the back! Just take it one day at a time and you'll do fine
Jamison'smama replied: Wow, way to go! That is a tough thing to do! You can do it!
Are you doing it cold turkey?
paradisemommy replied: woo hoo AMY....WTG!!! keep up the GREAT work and you will be feeling so much healthier before you know it!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: OMG! Amy that is sooooooo wonderful!!!!!! I am so proud of you!
amynicole21 replied: I'm using Nicorette - the gum. I've used it every time I quit... which has been a lot! Last time I quit was when I was preggo, and started up a year later. Bad bad bad.
chloe&tysmommy replied: wtg Amy! You definitely deserve a pat on the back and 'keep up the good work'....
I smoked for a long time too and just decided it was time to quit and that was it. It was really hard to fight the cravings but once a week or two past it was a whole lot easier. I'm glad I quit, but I found I ate all the time...lol
Good Luck
MomToJade&Jordan replied: WTG AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You keep it up. I didn't smoke as long as you did, but I know how hard it is to give it up. I had a choice between my habit and my vocal cords. I chose my vocal cords. You can do it.
