She stopped wanting to go to the potty

coasterqueen wrote: Kylie was doing so good for a few weeks potty training. She was leading the way...asking to go to the potty and her sitter and I would also put her on there other times and she'd go a couple of times a day..poo and pee. Friday morning I tried to put her on there and she froze up and screamed so I didn't force it. All day at Terri's she wouldn't go either so she didn't force it. sad.gif

Today she asked to go twice but I think it's just because she wanted to go to the water fountains at the store near the bathroom. rolleyes.gif She didn't even go and actually had already went in her diaper. She's been poo'ing in her diaper the last few days and the one thing with potty training is she would DEFINITELY tell you if she had to poo and would go in the potty. sad.gif

What is the deal????? dunno.gif sad.gif bawling.gif

MomToMany replied: It's a "2 steps forward, one step back" thing. There will be set-backs with potty training. It's a big adjustment and learning experience for a 2-year old to accomplish. It can be so frustrating, especially when they were doing so good.

It will get better Karen. It just takes time wink.gif .

MommyToAshley replied: She'll get it, don't worry. It sounds like you are doing all the right things, just hang in there!

A&A'smommy replied: awwwie I'm sorry, she will get it!

alice&arik replied: Arik did the same thing. It took a few phases like that for him. But he is actually holding on to this one. He would do really good with going potty for a few days and then just quit. But just keep asking her if she needs to go and she will eventually get it. Good Luck!! thumb.gif

Sunflower04 replied: My ds did the same thing but now we brought him chocolate and every time he goes to the bathroom he gets a piece. And we started this yesterday and he woke up and went to the bathroom and was eating his chocolate at 7:30am.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone. This whole issue is just starting to drive me insane, lol. Oh well...guess she'll get interested in it again when she's ready. rolleyes.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I am sure she will get it we are slow going, I am just letting her lead the way. she is good at teh pee but she has yet to poo, oh well.

kimberley replied: aw sorry to hear that. she was doing so well too. oh well, all in good time. she is demonstrating her strong will already wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I thought about Kylie today... Ashley went poo in her pants too. But, I am sure it was because she was constipated. I knew she was going poo because she went and sat in a corner, but I thought she might be constipated and I was just happy she was going and didn't make a bid deal about it. But, she took her pants off and brought me the pants with the poo in it and said, "EWwwww! Look at my pants Mommy!" ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Anyways, I just thought that I would metion that if Kylie is constipated (I don't know if she is or not?) that could be why she won't poo in the potty. I know that is why Ashley had an accident today.

coasterqueen replied: Thanks Dee. Actually even when she was constipated she still went poo on the potty. sad.gif So I know it's not that and she wasn't constipated these last few days when she pooped in her pants. I don't know what the deal is. She did ask to go potty twice over weekend but I think that was to use the water fountain at the store because she had already gone when we got in there. She sat down this morning but literally wanted up as soon as she sat down and she went twice today at daycare but didn't go...already went. sad.gif

I swear if it's not potty training..it's sleeping issues...among the many million things this child has to have a hard head about. sad.gif She's seriously going to break me down one of these days. wacko.gif

paradisemommy replied: don't worry..she'll get it. i think i've just come to the realization that taven's probably going to be like 3 before he's potty trained. he's just like kylie and goes two steps forward, one step back. but i'm not pushing it at all either. i figure he's gotta want to do it, you can't make him. plus - i'm kinda happy that he isn't only because his bms are fairly loose which makes things a little messier (if it's in his pants) and not diapers...

hang in there karen!!! she'll get it!! biggrin.gif
