Siggy size

Halo42101 wrote: Okay, I don't mind being told once to change my signature size but I was told 3 times and I already said I wasn't planning on keeping it long. Now I'm not sure what to put in my signature.

gr33n3y3z replied: sorry I cant help you bc I cant even make my own lol
I'm sure someone would be glad to help you if you ask smile.gif

Halo42101 replied: Thanks, Lisa.

redchief replied: I have some lame quote in mine. That's just about as advanced as I get siggy-wise. unsure.gif

I'm sure one of the smarter forum addicts can help though. thumb.gif

kimberley replied: if you need help resizing pictures, i would gladly help you. just email them to kimberleygb@yahoo.com smile.gif

as for being asked multiple times... sadly, that is part of our job. we have many members here on dial up and the large signatures really lag the board for them to the point that they can't even read one thread without waiting 15min for the page to load. sorry. hug.gif

TLCDad replied: Yes, the best thing to do when asked to make your signature smaller and if you do not have time to change it right away is to disable it. You can always re-enable it and make any changes when you get the time. This way you avoid any other resize requests or changes in the mean time. In fact, I have instructed our moderators to notify me if after a request has been made and a large signature continues to exist. I, unfortuantly will then be forced to disable it which is another admin duty I do not take pleasure in doing.

Please note, no one is coming down on you or anything, it is just something that needs to be enforced so everyone can enjoy the board without too much lag, etc. At least until dialup is no more. But even then, not everyone has large screen resolutions. There are still some out there who are at 800x600 or smaller. And most who have large screen resolutions such as 1280x1024 do not have their browsers open full screen. In fact I rarely do.

Halo42101 replied: Thank you for explaining it better to me, TLC Dad, & for Kimberley too offering to resize my pictures. I would also like to thank Lisa & RedChief for their posts as well. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I would recommend asking in the siggy request forum. There are lots of memebers that are great with siggys and I am sure they will be able to assist you.

Halo42101 replied: Thank you, Dee Dee. hug.gif

redchief replied:
Tis difficult to multitask with one's browser open in a full window is it not? wink.gif

TLCDad replied:
It is indeed smile.gif

I'm eventually going to upgrade to a larger LCD that has a res of at least 1600x1200 if not larger. That will be nice. Then again dual monitors can come in handy, I just do not like the hit on the CPU.

Halo42101 replied: Is it okay if I put 2 or 3 blinkies back blush.gif

redchief replied:
I'm running at 1680 x 1050... I can't see anything well without my glasses. Lord, I'm getting old. laugh.gif

MichaelsMommy replied: what I don't get is all the animated sigs are allowed but a flat file is not.. the animated ones take a ton of bandwidth and longer to load..

kimberley replied:
of course you can hon! as long as your siggy fits in this box you are fine.. but that must include all pictures, text blinkies etc.

kimberley replied:
i am sure you are right about the animated pics taking longer to load but thus far, we haven't had complaints since they are kept within the size guidelines.

Halo42101 replied: Oh, thank you, Kimberley. You are a sweetheart! hug.gif

ashtonsmama replied:
I love your new blinkies, Jess. Especially the ferret one!
