Silicone Bakeware - Has anyone used this?
Lalaena wrote: I like to bake and am wondering if anyone has used silicone before...
luvmykids replied: I use it a lot and love it!
redchief replied: No, but I've used silicone mitts. I've seen the stuff, but it just doesn't look right.
The science says it's a fine cooking material... but I just have this thing about using caulk as a casserole dish.
MyLuvBugs replied: Just used mine for the first time yesterday. Worked pretty good, but I didn't let them cool enough, and they broke apart (muffins did, not the bakeware. )
Lalaena replied: I mentioned in my introduction member that I'm a freelance writer. Anyone want to give me a brief quote for an article? -Positive feedback on silicone bakeware?
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: That is exactly how I feel about it, Ed. I use it in my shower, not my oven.
redchief replied: yeah, Kelly but I'm old... You're supposed to embrace these newfangled technologies and call me an old fart.
C&K*s Mommie replied: oh Ed! now you know you are far from being an old fart!
redchief replied: That's not what the undertaker said.
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Can't do it. I grew up helping my dad fix things around the house and worked maintenance in a plant for 3 summers. Silicone is for caulking.
Mom2Boyz replied: My mom got me the whole set for Christmas, and I love it I bake home made bread quite often, and the loaf pan ROCKS!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: I have seen those mitts in the stores and touched one with my finger and said yeah right
Bake silicone now??? and they say its safe? They said the samething with breast implants many years back and now look I will stick to my glass bake ware and few metal pans I have
holley79 replied: I was looking at it and was wondering how well it worked.
It just seems weird to bake in something that you use to seal things with. I'm sure before all is said and done they will say it causes cancer or something.
