Sleep talking
MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley will talk in her sleep. She'll sit up and say things but not really be awake.
The other night, we were in the office and she was saying something, and then screamed Help. So, I run in there... and she is sitting up in bed. I ask her if she is ok, and she says, "I was just teasing myself" and then lays down and goes back to sleep.
I wonder what she was teasing herself about. LOL!
Do your kids sleep talk? Does anyone know why some kids talk in their sleep and others don't? Just curious?
MyLuvBugs replied: I used to talk in my sleep allllll the time. My mom would get so annoyed b/c I'd be sound asleep and having these conversations. But Lorelei doesn't have that really. She whines and whimpers in her sleep, but thats about it.
It might have something to do with how deep a sleep the person is in? Not really sure.
luvmykids replied: I still talk in my sleep and have definitely passed it down to Kylie and Macie, when I cover them up before I go to bed most nights they both say something totally random, sometimes just jibberish but Kylie especially says stuff like "No, the orange one" or "You're so silly"
booey2 replied: She is such a funny girl. To answer your question, both boys talk in their sleep. Matthew more so than Thomas. The other night Matthew called me on 3 different occasions so I get up go in there and he is fast asleep. I am not sure what really causes it but they can be so funny sometimes.
redchief replied: John is a hilarious sleep-talker... Heheh... so is Lisa.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin has but not all the time. She did a couple weekes ago when she was sleeping with me, but did not last night. kinda suppried since she got really spooked by a spider.
C&K*s Mommie replied: From time to time the girls will talk in their sleep. Lately it has been Kellie moreso. Jibberish, as you said. I wake up very easily so I am coherent enough to recognize what she is saying.
I think it has to do with the stages of sleep, but to answer your second ?? I do not know myself, either.
ZandersMama replied: LOL Zander doesnt yet but me and hubby both talk in our sleep. Hubby actually told me in the wee hours of this morning that our buddy Joe was sitting on the boys sip cup and to get it from him weirdo lol. I should set up a tape recorder some night and tape our conversations i bet they would be a laugh!
Boo&BugsMom replied: Tanner does. One of my daycare girls does so much that I always think she is awake when she's not. I always have to look at her, and she gets loud sometimes too! Tanner also use to have night terrors and I swear he sometimes sleep walks, but I can't really be too sure yet, as it hasn't happened enough yet to know.
Oh, and I also talk in my sleep...I also scream and hit in my sleep...don't know what's wrong with me.
My3LilMonkeys replied: I am sleep talker. Neither of the kids are as of yet.
They do, however, have a family trait from DH's side where they sleep with their eyes halfway open sometimes - VERY creepy.
Jackie012007 replied: EEEEW DF does the sleeping with eyes open thing... it CREEPS me out!!! Sometimes he'll fall asleep when we're watcihing a movie and I'll think he;s awake and try to have a convo with him until I realize he's asleep!
I used to be an autonomic sleepwalker, but it's not nearly as frequent now. I've only SWed once this year... it was out onto the porch in the middle of winter!
kimberley replied: that is too cute!
Jacob is a big sleep talker. even at 10yo he still does lol. James is more of a sleep walker. he'll get up and go sit in the living room in the middle of the night but not remember
Nina J replied: Emily occassionaly talks in her sleep, but she just says nonsense, no actually sentences. The only word I've been able to understand her saying in her sleep is "soap"
I apparently sleep talk quite a bit. A few months ago DH said I told him I was going out to by some cigarettes. I havn't smoked for years!
Another time, I told him "We should do it" , he still mentions it and laughs. I must've been dreaming, but I wonder if I was dreaming about him or someone else
