holley79 wrote: Ok as I posted today Annika went to her first birthday party and her first bowling alley. We played Ski ball and won tickets. emlaugh.gif I forgot how much fun that game was. Well one of the grandmas there gave Annika a bitter biscuit while I was in the restroom. I read the box and it says 10+ months on it. I'm like unsure.gif Well I tried to take it away from Annika and she threw this major fit till I gave it back to her. (When did she learn to throw fits to get her way. dry.gif ) Well she dropped it and forgot about it. I was like, great. (We have a box of them in the pantry that was in a gift basket from my baby shower.) When we finally got home I was eating some crackers and she was throwing a major fit. huh.gif I offered her water (sippy cup), BM, watered down apple juice (sippy cup), baby food. She was not having any of it. She wanted my stupid cracker. I was telling my mom about the bitter biscuit incident and she was like, give her one. I gave them to you when you were 6 months old. Well I gave in. I stripped her down to her diaper, put her in her walker in the kitchen and gave her the freaking bitter biscuit. (Please don't blast me for this people.) She immediately hushed and was good to go. The dogs were on stand by for any droppings.

(clickable of course)
Ummm... Good. Yep got mom already wrapped. Peanut just thinks he's getting some.

You just wait till I get it good and gooey and I'll drop it on mom's floor. You can have it then.

I wear bitter biscuit how about you?

Yes, it took a bit to get all that off.

Before going to the party I had to shower and all that fun stuff. I was coming back down the stairs and looked over the railing. This is what I saw. (which in turn caused me to forget the camera when I packed up to leave.)

Daddy doesn't need that eye. Eye gouge.

Lastly, do you ever have that night where your back hurts and you don't feel like bending over the tub? Well that was me Friday night after we got back from dinner. I gave Annika her first sink bath. It was actually funny till she sucked on the washcloth with soap in it. (I did not notice how disgusting DH's countertop was till I viewed the pictures.)

luvmykids replied: rolling_smile.gif Ah yes, the biscuit glue I mean goo .... I used to love to give the kids sink baths and I STILL love skeeball! thumb.gif

All very cute pics, she is growing soooo fast! wub.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I remember those durn biscuits, clearly! laugh.gif Messy, messy, messy. There should be a warning about those on the boxes. That and those pinwheels... messy, messy, messy. rolleyes.gif

What precious pics those are. I love the headings you gave to each. Esp the one where Annika is gouging Shawn's eyes out, as a demand for a pony. Cute!! thumb.gif

No blasting from me about feeding your daughter, something less than ideal at this age. I think I mentioned to you before my thoughts, about our parents giving us things earlier than they should have... but we are still alive and well. I say go for it! thumb.gif

CantWait replied: Now why would we BLAST you??? Annika is just showing signs of wanting to try people food now that's all. I bet she loved loved that biscuit. Anthony would eat a whack of those in a day. The farley's biscuits are high in iron so I didn't mind giving him snacks inbetween his bm.

Those pictures are to cute for words. For awhile, until he outgrew it, the sink is where I would bath Anthony, it was SO much easier, and for some reason more fun for him, probably cause there was more mess afterwards. rolling_smile.gif

TFS Holly.

CAMSMOM1 replied: Awww Holley, she is getting so big! I always love seeing pics of Annika, she is so adorable! wub.gif My favorites are the ones of her in the sink, how cute is that? happy.gif What a doll she is. wub.gif

ZandersMama replied: they are so cute, I love the ones of her tormenting daddy, too cute!

Halo42101 replied: Tfs the pics. Holley. The eye gouge comment gave me a good laugh, although I feel sorry for Shawn who was terrorized by it. emlaugh.gif I remember my niece with those cookies and she's 17 years old now but I'll never forget how messy she got with them. blink.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I wouldnt blast you for feeding your daughter wink.gif

Those pics are great
I like the one with her in the sink
Those are the only baths my kids had bc of my back

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Cute pictures! wub.gif I gave Andrew biter biscuits way before 10 months (I think he was 8 months old) and he did fine. wink.gif Just remember to watch her while she's eating it because sometimes Andrew would bite off a chunk and I'd go and dig it out of his mouth.

amynicole21 replied: Both kids had them by that age. I would just take them away when they got down to choking-sized nubs wink.gif

She is lovely by the way wub.gif

kimberley replied: emlaugh.gif rolling_smile.gif that is too funny! poor daddy lol. K does the same thing right now wacko.gif. i wouldn't worry about the biscuit. she is prolly more curious and teething than hungry for it. jamie has already given K farley buscuits and she does more drooling on them then eating them. Annika really is adorable. thanks for sharing pics thumb.gif wub.gif

mckayleesmom replied: Don't feel bad....I didn't know they had an age requirement ...I use to give them to my kids at that age all the time...they loved them....They also liked those Gerber fruit puff things ...they tasted like baby bananas and pretty much disolved in their mouths....I reccomend them. They have other flavors now too.

redchief replied: I HAD to read this thread because I've NEVER seen a vent thread with a love heart next to it. Talk about mixed feelings! laugh.gif I'm glad I did too, great pics Holley!

holley79 replied:
Well Ed you know us women. Never know what our next mood swing will be like. emlaugh.gif

I was mainly a little ticked because I wasn't asked before giving her something. She had another one this morning. I think the cookies should come with protective clothing or something. I taker her out of the walker and straight to the tub. Good grief is that stuff stuck on. She mainly drolls on it and makes a mess. the dogs love it. They probably wonder why we never have children before now.

I think my fear with those things was when she was about 5 months old she got a hold of a tiny crumb of pizza crust and choked on it. Scared me half to death so I have been really really careful with stuff. I watch her like a hawk with it. She only gets down about half of it before she tosses it on the floor. By then it's doggie fair game.

wub.gif Thanks for letting me share.
