Smokers beware...
MommyToAshley wrote: We went to out to eat lunch on Friday. We went to our favorite place to have wings, which unfortunately is one of the few restaurants that still allows smoking. We usually go during the day because there aren't many smokers that come in during this time.
Anyways, we sat down at a table, and right before our food came, a lady came in and sat at a nearby table and lit up a cigaretter. Ashley said in her loud toddler voice, "that lady is SMOKING" (in that ewwww kind of voice) Then Daddy said,"smoking is bad for you" Then Ashley begins to cough (a fake cough) very loudly and says, "That smoke is choking me" and fake coughs some more. The lady put out her cigarette. It couldn't have been more perfect. The lady probably thought we told or taught Ashley to do that, but she did it on her own.
coasterqueen replied: That's great! It's sad a child has to tell someone that smoking in public places is horrible.
I, for one, just signed our city petition to ban it in our city public places. I SO hope it goes through. Dh is still a smoker and I was a smoker for too many years, not now, but we both agree that our children shouldn't have to breath smoke under any circumstance and no one should have to gag to death (like my children and I do) in a restaurant while trying to eat our food.
I wish Kylie would say things like that.
mckayleesmom replied: LOL...that is hillarious.
MommyToAshley replied: Well, sometimes her "bluntness" doesn't come at the best times. For example, I took her to the bathroom in this same restaurant and we had to wait in line. When we got in the stall, Ashley says VERY loudly, "EEEWWWW Mom, what's that SMELL??" I was so embarrassed. Then, a few seconds later she says, "Mom, why are you wrapping the potty with toilet paper.... did that lady get it dirty?" (she doesn't quite get squatting yet and I didn't bring the disposable toilet seat covers with me) When she said that, I heard some snickers come from outside the stall.
coasterqueen replied:
Hilarious! Now, that would be something Kylie WOULD do.
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylees new thing is telling me when she farted...and she is oh so proud of herself.
huggybugboy replied: Yeah Ashley. I do the same thing myself. People don't think it's so cute coming from a 20+ year old. Luckily, I live in CA. I barely remember when smoking in restaurants was allowed.
MomToMany replied: LOL, that is hilarious!
MM'sMama replied: That is really funny !!!! WTG Ashley!
holley79 replied: That will probably be my daughter.
As for smoking in resturants, I live in Florida so it's not allowed. Even though I smoked, when I would go to dinner we always sat in non.
to Ashley!!!!
gr33n3y3z replied: I think its good I smoke I hope not for long but any how I've never smoked in a public eating place bc if I want one I will get up and leave to have it. I cant stand trying to eat and having smoke in my face to ban smoking in eating places
3_call_me_mama replied: WTG Ashley:) VT is smoke free except for a few bars adn those are by city choice. Cameron always sees cigarette butts on teh ground and says "ex gross, someon elittered their dirty cigarette on teh groung" and if he sees someone smoking he says " don't they know smoking is very bad adn make you very sick" or "(Pretends to cough) and says EWWW I smell yucky smoky I t hurts my eyes and i cant' breathe" . Gotta love kids brutal honesty.
And LOL about hte bathroom.... I try to shush the talk in the bathroom cause it's always 'mommy what's that smell" or "someone must have pooped in here.. cause it smells like poop"
Maddie&EthansMom replied: She is too hysterical!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: WTG Ashley.
holley79 replied: I can't help but laugh when I am in a public restroom and a child does that. The mother is mortified but you know in all honesty that you would LOVE to say something like that but only the kids can get away with it. LOL
My2Beauties replied: Good for her! They just passed the smoking ban here in Louisville, it goes into effect tomorrow actually, only restaurants and bars that have at least 25% of their sales coming from alcohol can allow smoking, it's a start!
You know DH's aunt smokes around Hanna a lot, just lights right up while she is standing right there beside her and it oh so p's me off, I hate to say anything to her because she does everything for us, she is the nicest woman and adores Hanna, whenever I have said something she just says oh you're too new school and you younger people think that everything hurts your kids Grrrr!
A&A'smommy replied: SMART GIRL!!!! VERY VERY good ashley!!! I cant stand that especially people who smoke AROUND children!!
DansMom replied: I love Ashley!
