So..We have FINALLY decided - Pics included!

Boys r us wrote: to build a new house! We've been thinking on it for the last year, but we could never decide on a floor plan we both liked!! Rick likes boring conservative, I like a little more flash and character to it. So my dad told me he just finished a beautiful house in one of his subdvisions and we should come look b/c we would like it. So we did a couple of weeks ago and we both fell in love with it!! Hallaluja!

So, the last week, Rick has been working every night on clearing the land next door that we own in order to yet it ready to put a well, spetic and foundation in! It will take a few months to clear the land b/c it's pretty densly populated with trees right now. I'm all excited, but it will be probably 2 years before we get moved in b/c we are going to do as much of it ourselves as we can and also we're going to try to do this with extra money as we get it(selling our investment houses..) so that we odn't have to take out a mortgage on the new house. Anyhow..I took a million pics of the house that my dad built..ours will be pretty much exactly like this one, with more colors on the walls though!! But anyhow, this is exciting b/c now we can redo the things we wished we would have done differently with our current house! Anyways, I wanted to share!
There are also some pics of Brae on the bulldozer with rick and pick of our land and the progress Rick is making!

They're expensive here too Jess..but when you have connections with the builder(uhmm..daddy's girl here) it sure helps..also have learned a lot about houses and can do a lot of the work ourselves..the tile floors, the painting, the electrical and some other things..all of that adds up. My dad sold this house for $600k but it his cost to build it was only $300k and it will cost us even less, b/c we can do a lot of te work.

I'll post more pics of everything as we do it...it will be exciting to watch it go up!

Boys r us replied: Rae, my dad owns his own business..he's like my ultimate hero he's a true rags to riches story. He grew up in a farm family and his dad wouldn't even co-sign a loan for him so he did it all on his own, he went from nothing to owning a multi million dollar business with a lot of hard work on his part! thank goodness he's not as tight as his dad was b/c we have a beautiful house now which is mostly courtesy of him.

CCT- I don't have the exact sq ft but it is roughly 6,000 sq ft. with the basement finished it's right at 8,000. Which is about the size of our house, so we're not upgrading or downgrading..just revamping with a new look! and I can't WAITTTTTT!

We are under contract now to buy a house that is 1300 square feet. Wow- 6,000. I can't imagine what I would do with all of that space!
