Socks that have sticky bottoms - AND stay on their feet?

msoulz wrote: Erin hates to wear socks. She pulls them right off her feet. So I put a pair of knit booties on her that have ties on them, tie them up in double knots and she tries like crazy to pull them off but so far has failed. The trouble with them is that she can't walk in them as she slips & slides. I want to be able to let her wander around in places like Jake's school or a store but I don't want her in bare feet. I tried a pair of Robeez shoes, which are nice and flexible, but she screamed like they were cutting off her feet, so I wondered if they are just uncomfortable. DH is a physical therapist who doesn't want any shoes on her at all, but the Robeez seemed OK because they are so flexible.

So does anyone have any thoughts? I can't seem to keep socks on her for anything!!

ediep replied: I used to buy the Old Navy ankle socks for Jason and they stayed on very well. They had "Old Navy" on the bottom in that rubbery letters so they weren't too slippery

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: The only way I've ever been able to keep socks on Logan's feet was putting shoes on over them. Even now, as soon as I take off his shoes, he takes off the socks. I loved Robeez, other than that, I have no advice. Hope she learns soon.

ETA, could you put some of that fabric paint that turns puffy on the bottom of her booties? That stuff is kind of like sticky socks.

Jamison'smama replied: they make a couple of styles of Robeeze and there is another brand out there....someone help me that is similar to Robeeze that he may like better. I only use Old Navy or Gymboree socks.

kit_kats_mom replied: gap socks are like the old navy ones. My kids practically live in them. I believe we have 12 pairs each rolling_smile.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: mary how about duct tape on her ankles?

msoulz replied:

LOL, I'd have to be sure that her pants didn't ride up when she sits or I may get a visit from social services!! The things that cross our minds . . . emlaugh.gif

I'm going to have to visit The Gap for some socks. They seem to be a big favorite.

Thanks to all!

kit_kats_mom replied:
I had to order their gap socks online. The store didn't have them.

quinnandjacob'smom replied: I use the Old Navy socks as well and they have stayed on for the most part. He has figured out how to get them off, though, so maybe I'm no help at all lol! My gf uses that paint someone mentioned on her dd's slippers. She says it works great. Hope you find something that works!

msoulz replied: The little rascal - today her dad put those shoes on her and she decided it was OK to walk around in them! I guess I was too quick to pull them off when she cried. So he approves (hooray!) and she will use them and I am happy.

Boo&BugsMom replied: I always have gotten Tanner Old Navy socks. Now he doesn't fit into those nice ones with the sticky bottoms anymore! sad.gif They always stayed on his feet real nice and they have the no-skid stuff on the bottoms. I also have gotten him ones from The Children's Place...we have an awesome outlet mall where they sell them cheap. Those are also really good, they stay on and they have the non-skid stuff on the bottom as well.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Um... tights stay on better than socks.... at least for my kids... wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: I also buy the old navy socks just got new ones for her in 4t/5t. I love them.

noahsmommy replied: We use old navy socks, and I got him a pair of slippers and he wears them all the time

redplaydoh replied: I put tights on the boys and also used that puffy fabric paint to make them anti-skid... the only problem with that is, it can make it more difficult to slide shoes on their feet (just a tip for when she does start wearing shoes).

msoulz replied: I do like the tights idea - but how much fun is it to get tights on a wiggly 1 year old?? rolleyes.gif And are the sizes easy to figure out? Any good suggestions on where to buy them (now that I know where to get to good sticky bottom socks!)?

Thanks!!!!! hug.gif

lisar replied: They only way for me to keep socks on Raygen is to put shoes on her with them. As soon as the shoes come off the first thing she does is pull those socks off. Thats the only thing I have ever done.

redplaydoh replied: Getting tights on is really quite easy... both my boys have worn them since they were newborn, only in winter of course.
