Some pics of Megan - and one of the birthday girl
coasterqueen wrote: I sat Megan in her bumbo the other morning while I fixed Dh his coffee. I turned my head for a second to get the decanter and she had this ladle in her mouth. I figured one day she'd get it because she's always eyeing it on the counter.

Here's a pic of her that I took when we went to the park on Monday. She's so precious. But I'm wondering when or if she's ever gonna get rid of sticking out that tongue.

Last one of my birthday girl from the park today. Thanks for letting me share.
moped replied: What a peach!!!
What is that thing she is sitting in?
How old is she now?
Kaitlin'smom replied: your girls are so beautiful, just like mommy
coasterqueen replied: It's called a Bumbo seat. My SIL got one for Megan when she heard about the "craze" of them. I ended up getting one for my friend. It's a seat that just helps them sit up before they are able to. We use it sparingly.
She will be 6 months birth age (5 months adjusted) on the 16th.

TeeHee...the tongue is too cute. I'm sure she will quit eventually.

I considered getting Nora a bumbo, but have heard mixed reviews... what do you think? Can she get out of it?
coasterqueen replied: Well I'll tell you this, I wouldn't have gotten one if it wasn't bought for her. Course I did turn around and buy one for a friend.
Megan's therapist told us not to let her use it, that they are bad. BUT the reasoning is that they think parents will just forego tummy time and let them sit in that. Tummy time is extremely important. We figured we'd use it because we are very adamant on keeping up with tummy time so it won't be a problem. Although our child just wants to stand 24/7 anyways. Even in her sling.
It is very helpful, though. Dh and/or I use it in the morning while making our lunches, getting coffee run and getting Kylie breakfast. She's not in it for more than 20 minutes at the most each time. Dh has used it while giving Kylie a bath if I'm not there. He'll put Megan in it on the bathroom floor while he's washing Kylie. We've also taken it to restaurants letting her sit in it while we eat. But most times I forget to bring it and she's on my lap instead.
The turd has learned to use one leg/foot which she pushes her foot on the counter to scoot the bumbo over to something she sees as interesting. For instance she scooted her bumbo over to the spoon jar to get that ladle that was in the pic. No joke! So obviously you have to watch them if you have them on the counter in it. She can't get out of it but she can lean pretty far to one side in it.
As far as getting out, I can get her out. Sometimes it gets stuck on her when I lift her up but that's it. I know I've heard people say their kids legs are too chub for them but I'll tell you this, Kylie sits in it. For some reason she's fascinated with it and uses it to watch tv in the living room. So if a 3 year old thighs can get in it I'd think Nora would do fine in it.
