coasterqueen wrote: I'm in so much pain right now. My belly button feels so very very sore and it feels like there is something on the inside of my belly pushing out of my belly button and it's excrutiating pain! bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

What could this be????? Should I call the doctor???? bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif

mammag replied: Mine got the same way. My doctor said it was nothing to worry about and it was normal (never had it with the others). If you're really worried though I would just call to ease your mind.

aspenblue1 replied: I would call and check just to be on the safe side.

jcc64 replied: Probably nothing, but I would call just to be safe. Hope it goes away fast!

amynicole21 replied: Yikes! I wonder if you've just strained a ligament or muscle? If it is as painful as it sounds, I would call the doc. Better to put your mind at ease than to obsess about it all night!

kimberley replied: i am sure it is just another pg pain, but call the doc to ease your mind. i hope it lets up soon. keep us posted. grouphug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Well I called the doctor on call because I was to the point where I was on all fours and was in tears there for a second. Dh actually called them. blush.gif

He asked if I was sure it wasn't contractions. I told him I didn't think so that my belly wasn't getting hard. He told me that doesn't mean anything as far as belly getting hard. So then I told him honestly the only contractions I ever REALLY felt were the ones after they broke my water and I have severe back labor. blush.gif Embarassing. I never really noticed BH with Kylie and had an epi about an hour after the back labor. This definately isn't back labor. He said well it could be contractions and said to give it an hour or so, try to time whatever the pain is and if it doesn't go away within an hour or so to go to L&D. blink.gif

I feel so stupid that I don't know my body. blush.gif It's not like round ligament pain or any other pains during pg. This literally feels like an excrutiating radiating pain all around the belly button area. bawling.gif bawling.gif bawling.gif It keeps coming and going but how in the heck do you time it? blush.gif

UGH. DH is putting Kylie to sleep for me and if gets worse or keeps feeling this way I guess I'll go in. I did ask him if this is a normal feeling to have because I know that it's common for the belly button to be sore but the only thing he said was that it wasn't really normal but without me coming in to be checked out it's hard to say what's going on. rolleyes.gif

momof2girls replied: With Kiley my belly button would get sore I mean really bad... I did go to labor and del cause I thought I was having contractions, but I was not... they told me it was probaby just the baby growing or stretching out... it would hurt off an on, if it continues to bother you go in to get it checked out...

With my first I only had back labor, and then a c setion
With Kiley I had lots of contraction, but then another c section

keep us posted

A&A'smommy replied: OH hun let us know what it is!!!! I"m sorry your hurting so bad ((((BIG HUGS)))) I hope you get it figured out!

Kaitlin'smom replied: okay I hoep its gone by now but heres how you time it

when it starts DH or you if you can look at the clock note the time, when it stops or calms down note the time again, keep doing this for at least an hour. If they are reg like every so many minutes then its labor, if it spratic like 5 minues one time and 8 then next then its probably something else. Either way if it does not stop in a couple hours go in and get checked, better be safe.

Hope all that made sense

I will check back for updates

aspenblue1 replied: Hopefully no news is good news and the pain went away.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I hope everything's ok! unsure.gif keep us posted!

MomToMany replied: ohmy.gif Oh no! I hope everything is OK Karen! Please update when you can!

coasterqueen replied: I'm fine now. I didn't have to go to L&D, I just fell asleep, lol. The pain finally went away after a few hours. I still have NO idea whatsoever what it was but all I know is before I started getting pain around the belly button area it first started on the right side of my belly. It felt like something was scraping the inside of my belly with a knife. sad.gif Then it went away after a few minutes then started in the area of my belly button.

I can only assume it was the baby moving somehow but it was not regular movement by any means. It was so painful it had me in tears. sad.gif If it happens again I'm going straight to the doctor for sure. My mom said maybe the baby went transverse....dunno.gif Who knows.

Thanks for thinking of me and giving me support. I knew I wasn't in severe danger because I had no bleeding or anything. It was just a pain that IMO isn't normal but went away, lol.

kit_kats_mom replied: Yikes. I'm glad it got better. Mine was really sore for a day or two then it just got numb. I don't think it ever had me in misery though. Poor thing. bawling.gif

Don't feel bad about the contraction thing either. Remember, I had no idea that my back pain was contractions. My belly wasnt' getting hard but the back pain was about every 5 minutes and it turned out that I was dialating. I never had any BH or other contrax with K until my water broke either...if I did I was either too busy or too dumb to realize what they were. wink.gif

Hugs. wub.gif

aspenblue1 replied: Glad to hear the pain went away!

DansMom replied: I'm glad you're feeling better! I wonder if Megan was pushing hard with a foot or a hand or an elbow...? Trying to shift, or actually shifting to a new position?

(Notice how I slipped in my vote tongue.gif )

Keep us posted!

coasterqueen replied:
You are so funny. biggrin.gif I was like "uh, did DH tell you last night?". I *think* last night we have officially decided on Megan. wub.gif Yep, I spent the last few days talking to myself on the way to and from work speaking the name Ashlyn and Megan and settled on Megan. I think Ashlyn is very very pretty but after you say it too many times...it just doesn't sound the same. tongue.gif The only thing keeping me from definitely saying it's Megan is the initials MNN....although Kylie's is KEN so I don't know why that's an issue for me either. tongue.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
LOL I worried about initals also thats why I could not give Kailtin a middle name that starts with a vowel...LOL the funny thing we think about. I like Megan better...just my vote rolleyes.gif

MomToMany replied: Glad the pain went away! And congratulations on deciding on a name!! What a relief that must be! I like Megan too wub.gif .

A&A'smommy replied: I'm glad you are better I hope that pain doesn't come back!!! Sooo you decided on Megan, that is a very pretty name and don't worry too much about initials she is going to be too beautiful for it too matter just like her big sister wub.gif wub.gif

FroggyJK replied: I'm glad you are doing better now! I still am not sure what real contractions feel like even after two kids! So don't feel too bad about that. tongue.gif

I love the name Megan, too! Though maybe I'm a little bias. biggrin.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm glad you're feeling better! You had me worried there for a while last night. tongue.gif

I love the name Megan ~ i would probably use it someday but my best friend already has a Megan so that would probably confuse things. tongue.gif

jcc64 replied: Glad you're feeling better, Karen. I also prefer Megan, but refrained from saying so until you settled on it.

ediep replied: oh my Karen, I am sooo glad to hear that you are feeling better! That sounded very scary there last night!!

chloe&tysmommy replied: ahh glad your feeling better...my first thought was the baby moving or stretching really hard or maybe she turned? oh well, I'm glad your not in pain anymore grouphug.gif

I love the name Megan wub.gif you must feel better deciding on her name wub.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm sorry I missed this. bawling.gif I'm so glad things are better. grouphug.gif I've known people to be in a lot of pain like that when the baby settles into the delivery position. Ethan was breech and I was so afraid at the last minute all 8 lbs of him would flip and it would KILL ME in the process. emlaugh.gif My belly button area was always so tender with both of my pregnancies and it still bothers me to this day. unsure.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I'm glad that everything worked out! Don't ever be embarrassed to go to Labour and Delivery, that's there job, that's what they are there for! I hope the pain doesn't come back! grouphug.gif
