Something is wrong with my dog.
favre4fan wrote: My dh went home for lunch and my female boxer Kay(shes only 2) was covered in lumps all under her skin. Totally all over her body. She just had surgery a couple months ago to have some cysts removed and has had some allergy things going on with her skin but not something like this! My male boxer Koal is fine so we don't know what it could be, dh says she looks bad, he will be taking her to the vet this afternoon. I sure hope its nothing serious we have spent so much on the vet already its crazy.
My2Beauties replied: Oh no, poor puppy! I had a friend whose pit bull puppy had a weird skin disorder that caused her to do that as well and they had to dip her in some special shampoo like twice a week or something like that until it went away. She told me that it is common in short hair dogs (boxers and pits have the same texture coat). But other than that I'm not sure, but I have such a soft heart for animals I hope your poochie gets to feeling better!
TANNER'S MOM replied: This kind of thing happens all the time to my min-pin. She is very sensitive! The first thing we do before making a Vet appt, is over the counter bendryl. Just the dose that matches her weight..and then if that doesn't work we go to the vet for steroids
amynicole21 replied: Oh no! I totally freak out when my dog has something wrong with him (which is A LOT!) I hope that you can get it figured out and that it is nothing serious. Poor pooch!
favre4fan replied: i hope its nothing major arghhhh. Those of you that have pets know how expensive a trip to the vet can be!
gr33n3y3z replied: Awww I hope everythng is ok
kimberley replied: oh no! i hope he is okay! please keep us posted.
favre4fan replied: Kay will be fine the vet says, he gave her a shot and said she may have had an allergic reaction to something. Who knows with that dog she eats anything we drop on the floor and she likes to lick whatever is in the dishwasher if I happene to be loading it. I might ask my munchkins its possible they could have fed her something.
MomofJandB replied: Glad to hear your dog is going to be ok! I know what you mean about the vet bills! Sometimes I think dogs are more expensive than children!!!
favre4fan replied: Oh yes i think between both dogs today the dh shelled out about 200.00! Our other dog was due for some shotsso he took him in as well. I told Dh we need pet insurance!!
ctymom replied: I have a boxer and this happens all the time! Save your money of vet bills though! Just give her Benydryl (sp?) Just verify the amount for her weight. It helps right away. I keep a bottle of it marked just for Lucy. It scared us to death the first time it happened. She's also had 2 tumors removed and now has a boatload of problems. Boxers are prone to that stuff. She also has to take med's for hypothyroidism and pain med's for arthrytis. (please excuse my spelling tonight!) Lucy is 8 years old now and showing it.
Hope your dog feels better.

mama3x replied: As a former vet tech, I have to concur: Benadryl! It will save you lots on vet bills. Poor Boxers have it rough when it comes to skin issues...
The shot will work a bit faster usually than Benadryl so if you don't see the allergy symptoms immediately disappear, don't worry - as long as you see some improvement.
Sunflower04 replied: I am glad everything worked out for your dog.
coasterqueen replied: How scary! I'm glad that your dog is ok.
