Song that makes you cry? - let's hear em!!!!!
GavinsMommy wrote: I love Switchfoot (Christian rock band). The night before Gavin was born I cleaned the whole time and played "On Fire" over and over again. It makes me just start bawling and I have no clue as to why. I don't even consider it a Christian song. I mean, it is...but it could be played on any radio station and not be considered religious. I just love it.
I'm sitting here with a fussy baby and playing it and singing it to him and he is just looking at me...makes me so thankful to have him...okay I have to stop crying
POST LYRICS PPL i'm gettin mine, h/o
Tell you where you need to go Tell you who you need to be Tell you what you need to know Tell you when you'll need to leave
But everything inside you knows Says more than what you've heard So much more than empty conversations Filled with empty words
Chorus:
And you're on fire When He's near you You're on fire When He speaks You're on fire Burning at these mysteries
Give me one more time around Give me one more chance to see Give me everything You are Give me one more chance to be... (near You)
Cause everything inside looks like Everything I hate You are the hope I have for change You are the only chance I'll take
Chorus: When I'm on fire When You're near me I'm on fire When You speak And I'm on fire Burning at these mysteries these mysteries...
I'm standing on the edge of me (x3) I'm standing on the edge
Chorus:
And I'm on fire When You're near you I'm on fire When You speak (Yea) I'm on fire Burning at these mysteries...
kit_kats_mom replied: tears in heaven by Eric Clapton. I simply can't listen to that song...turns me into a blubbering idiot
Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven? Would it be the same If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong And carry on, 'Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven.
Would you hold my hand If I saw you in heaven? Would you help me stand If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way Through night and day, 'Cause I know I just can't stay Here in heaven.
Time can bring you down, Time can bend your knees. Time can break your heart, Have you begging please, begging please.
Beyond the door, There's peace I'm sure, And I know there'll be no more Tears in heaven.
Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven? Would it be the same If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong And carry on, 'Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven.
iluvmysweetiepies replied: Let Them be Little
I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand. You felt so good in it; no bigger than a minute. How it amazes me you're changin' with every blink. Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon.
So let them be little, 'Cause they're only that way for a while. Give 'em hope, give them praise, Give them love every day. Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle, Let 'em sleep in the middle, Oh, but let them be little.
I never felt so much in one little tender touch. I live for those kisses, your prayers an' your wishes. An' now you're teachin' me how only a child can see. Tonight, while we're on our knees, all I ask is:
Please, let them be little, 'Cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give them praise, Give them love every day. Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle, Let 'em sleep in the middle, Oh, but let them be little.
The so innocent, precious soul: You turn around, an' it's time to let them go.
So let them be little, 'Cause they're only that way for a while. Give them hope, give 'em praise, Give them love every day. Let 'em cry, let 'em giggle, Let them sleep in the middle, Oh, but let them be little.
Let them be little.

I agree with that Just very sad
kit_kats_mom replied: oh, and that country song "I hope you dance". I don't know why but that one gets me too. Don't know who sings it though
Maddie&EthansMom replied: IF I HAD ONLY KNOWN Reba McEntire
If I had only known It was the last walk in the rain I'd keep you out for hours in the storm I would hold your hand Like a life line to my heart Underneath the thunder we'd be warm If I had only known It was our last walk in the rain
If I had only known I'd never hear your voice again I'd memorize each thing you ever said And on those lonely nights I could think of them once more Keep your words alive inside my head If I had only known I'd never hear your voice again
You were the treasure in my hand You were the one who always stood beside me So unaware I foolishly believed That you would always be there But then there came a day And I turned my head and you slipped away
If I had only known It was my last night by your side I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn And when you'd smile at me I would look into your eyes And make sure you know my love For you goes on and on If I had only known If I had only known The love I would've shown If I had only known
This one and ONE MORE DAY by Diamond Rio They both remind me of my Nanie.
Of course a lot of songs make me cry....But I just can't listen to these...I turn into a puddle when I do.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Tears in Heaven...OMG some friends played that at their sons funeral, now it all I think of and I'm gone
And Butterfly kisses by BOb Carlyle ( i think thats his name)
Alice replied: Dance with my Father.
Actually, it no longer makes me cry, since I'll stop whatever I'm doing to turn off the radio to avoid hearing it. It came out around the time my dad died, and I will never willingly listen to that song. It's beautiful, but tears my heart in two.
jdkjd replied: Baby Mine The Last Unicorn (the Kenny Loggins version) Rainbow Connection You're Still You (Josh Groban-he sang it on Ally McBeal and I played it at our wedding) To Where You Are (both Josh Groban)
Ummm...that's all I can think of right now.
kit_kats_mom replied: Rainbow Connection
from the muppets?
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Butterfly Kisses
There's two things I know for sure She was sent here from heaven, and she's Daddy's little girl. As I drop to my knees by her bed at night She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes And I thank God for all of the joy in my life, oh but most of all...
For butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair Walk beside the pony Daddy, it's my first ride I know the cake looks funny Daddy, but I sure tried Oh with all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.
Sweet sixteen today She's looking like her Mama, a little more everyday. One part woman, the other part girl To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls. Trying her wings out in a great big world But I remember...
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair. You know how much I love you Daddy, but if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time. With all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.
All the precious time, Oh, like the wind the years go by. Precious butterfly, Spread your wings and fly.
She'll change her name today. She'll make a promise, and I'll give her away. Standing in the brideroom just staring at her She asks me what I'm thinking, and I said I'm not sure. I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl, And she leaned over...
Gave me butterfly kisses with her Mama there Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair. Walk me down the aisle Daddy, it's just about time. Does my wedding gown look pretty Daddy? Daddy, don't cry. Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must of done something right. To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses, I couldn't ask God for more, than this is what love is. I know I gotta let her go, but I'll always remember... Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses.
I cry everytime I hear this song, I think of Emily and her Daddy and how close they are.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: "When You Come Home" and "He's my Son" both my Mark Schultz. (Christian artist) They both make me bawl - especially if I try to sing along.
When You Come Home:
First day of recess, they all laughed at me when I fell off the swing set and scraped up my knee. The nurse called my momma to say I'd be late, when she gave me the phone I could hear momma say, "I'm so sorry, son, though I think you're so brave," she was smilin' when she said,
*Chorus* "When you come home no matter how far run through the door and into my arms It's where you are loved It's where you belong I will be here When you come home"
I waved good-bye through the window as I boarded the plane my first job in Houston was waiting for me Found a letter from momma tucked in my coat as I flew down the runway I smiled when she wrote, "I'll miss you son, you'll be so far away I'll be waiting for the day..."
*Chorus* "When you come home no matter how far run through the door and into my arms it's where you are loved it's where you belong I will be here When you come home"
"I don't think she can hear you now," the doctor told me. "Your mother is fading. It's best that you leave." so I whispered "I love you" then turned away but I stopped at the door when I heard momma say "I love you son, but they're callin' me away. Promise me before I go..."
*Chorus* "When you come home no matter how far run through the door and into my arms it's where you are loved it's where you belong I will be here When you come home"
He's My Son:
I'm down on my knees again tonight I'm hoping this prayer will turnout right See there is a boy that needs your help I've done all that I can do myself His mother is tired I'm sure you can understand Each night as he sleeps She goes in to hold his hand And she tries not to cry As the tears fill her eyes Chorus: Can you hear me? Am I getting through tonight? Can you see him? Can you make him feel all right? If you can hear me Let me take his place somehow See, he's not just anyone He's my son
Sometimes late at night I watch him sleep I dream of the boy he'd like to be I try to be strong and see him through But God who he needs right now is You Let him grow old Live life without fear What would I be Living without him here He's so tired and he's scared Let him know that You're there repeat chorus Can you hear me? Can you see him? Please don't leave him He's my son.

I can only imagine What it will be like When I walk By your side
I can only imagine What my eyes will see When your face Is before me I can only imagine
[Chorus:] Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all I can only imagine
I can only imagine When that day comes And I find myself Standing in the Son
I can only imagine When all I will do Is forever Forever worship You I can only imagine

I can only imagine [x2]
I can only imagine When all I will do Is forever, forever worship you
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Also....does anyone bawl every time they here "God Bless the U.S.A.???!!! I'm such a baby!
If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life, And I had to start again with just my children and my wife. I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today, ‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee, across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA, Well, there’s pride in every American heart, and it’s time to stand and say:
I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free. And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me. And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
I put away the groceries And I take my daily bread I dream of your arms around me As I tuck the kids in bed
I don't know what you're doin' And I don't know where you are But I look up at that great big sky And I hope you're wishin' on that same bright star
I wonder, I pray
[Chorus:] And I sleep alone I cry alone And it's so hard livin' here on my own So please, come home soon (Come home soon)
I know that we're together Even though we're far apart And I'll wear our lucky penny 'round my neck Pressed to my heart
I wonder, I pray
[Repeat Chorus]
[Bridge:] I still imagine your touch It's beautiful missing something that much But sometimes love needs a fighting chance So I'll wait my turn until it's our turn to dance
I wonder, I pray
[Second Chorus:] I sleep alone I cry alone Without you this house is not a home So please, come home soon
[Third Chorus:] I walk alone I try alone I'll wait for you, don't want to die alone So please, come home soon
Come home soon Come home soon
JessC replied: My Immortal By Evanescence.
I’m so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave ’cause your presence still lingers here And it won’t leave me alone
These wounds won’t seem to heal This pain is just too real There’s just too much that time cannot erase
[chorus:] When you cried I’d wipe away all of your tears When you’d scream I’d fight away all of your fears I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me
You used to captivate me By your resonating life Now I’m bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts My once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away All the sanity in me
These wounds won’t seem to heal This pain is just too real There’s just too much that time cannot erase [chorus] I’ve tried so hard to tell myself that you’re gone But though you’re still with me I’ve been alone all along
And also... Shania Twain "Don't!"
Don't!
Don't... don't you wish we tried? Do you feel what I feel inside? You know our love is stronger than pride... oh No don't... don't let your anger grow Just tell me what you need me to know Please talk to me, don't close the door
Hmmm, 'cause I wanna hear you I wanna be near you
[Chorus] Don't fight, don't argue Give me the chance to say that I'm sorry Just let me love you Don't turn me away Don't tell me to go
Don't!... Don't give up on trust Don't give up on me, on us If we could just hold on long enough
Hmmm, we can do it we'll get through it
[Chorus] Don't fight, don't argue Just give me the chance to say that I'm sorry Just let me love you Don't turn me away, don't tell me to go
Don't pretend that it's okay Things won't get better that way Don't do something you might regret someday... Don't!
[dobro solo, instrumental] Don't give up on me Hmm, Don't! (We can do it) We'll get through it
[Chorus] Don't fight, don't argue Just give me the chance to say that I'm sorry Just let me love you Don't turn me away, don't tell me to go
Don't! (Don't fight dont argue) Don't give up on me (Give me the chance to say that I'm sorry) Say that that I'm sorry (Just let me love you) Don't give up on me (Don't turn me away) Don't tell me to go
PascosGirl replied: Here Without You by 3 Doors Down, that one gets me too.
A hundred days had made me older since the last time that I've saw your pretty face
A thousand lights had made me colder and I don’t think I can look at this the same
But all the miles had separate They disappear now when I’m dreaming of your face
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams And tonight it’s only you and me
The miles just keep rollin as the people either way to say hello I've heard this life is overrated but I hope that it gets better as we go
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it’s only you and me
Everything I know, and anywhere I go it gets hard but it won’t take away my love And when the last one falls, when it’s all said and done it get hard but it won’t take away my love
I’m here without you baby but your still on my lonely mind I think about you baby and I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby but your still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it’s only you and me
In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero I am strong and wise And I know no fear But the truth is plain to see She was sent to rescue me I see who I want to be in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal Darkness turns to light And the world is at peace This miracle God gave to me Gives me strength when I am weak I find reason to believe in my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my finger Oh it puts a smile in my heart Everything becomes a little clearer I realize what life is all about
It's hanging on when your heart has had enough It's giving more when you feel like giving up I've seen the light its in my daugher's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I see the future A reflection of who I am and what will be Though she'll grow and someday leave Maybe raise a family When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me for I'll be there in my daughter's eyes
I love If I had Only Known by Reba!
And the following song is one my uncle used to play for me and laugh when I cried. Just read the lyrics...it is not a typical song.
I was on the outskirts of a little southern town Tryin' to reach my destination before the sun went down The old CB was blarin' away on channel 1-9! When there came a little boy's voice on the radio line
And he said: "Breaker 1-9! Is anyone there? Come on back, truckers and talk to Teddy Bear!" Well, I keyed the mike and said: "You got it, Teddy Bear!" And a little boy's voice came back on the air
"'Preciate the break, Who we got on that end?" I told him my handle, and, then he began: "Now, I'm not supposed to bother you fellows out there Mom says you're busy and for me to stay off the air
But you see, I get lonely and it helps to talk 'Cause that's about all I can do, I'm crippled, and, I can't walk!" I came back and told him to fire up that mike And I'd talk to 'im, as long as he liked
"This was my dad's radio", the little boy said "But I guess it's mine and mom's now, 'cause my daddy's dead!" "Dad had a wreck about a month ago He was trying to get home in a blindin' snow
Mom has to work now, to make ends meet And I'm not much help, with my two crippled feet!" "She says not to worry that we'll make it alright But, I hear her crying, sometimes late at night
You know there's just one thing I want more than anything else to see Aw, I know you guys are too busy to bother with me!" "But, you see, my dad used to take me for rides when he was home But, I guess that's all over now, since my daddy's gone
Not one breaker came on the old CB As that little crippled boy talked with me I tried hard to swallow a lump that just wouldn't stay down As I thought about my boy back in Greenville Town
"Dad was going to take mom and me with him later on this year, Why, l remember 'im saying: 'Someday this old truck will be yours, Teddy Bear!' But, I know I'll never get to ride an 18-wheeler again But, this old base will keep me in touch with all my trucker friends!"
"Teddy Bear's gonna back on out now and leave you alone 'Cause it's about time for mom to come home But, you give me a shout when you're passin' through And I'll sure be happy to come back to you!"
Well, I came back and I said: uh! "Before you go 10-10 What's your home 20, little CB friend?" Well, he gave me his address and I didn't once hesitate 'Cause this hot load of freight was just gonna have to wait
I turned that truck around on a dime And headed straight for Jackson Street, 229 And as I rounded the corner, oh, I got one heck of a shock l8 wheelers were lined up for three city blocks!
Why, I guess every driver for miles around had caught Teddy Bear's call And that little crippled boy was having a ball For as fast as one driver would carry him in Another would carry him to his truck and take off again
Well, you better believe I took my turn at riding Teddy Bear And then I carried him back in and put him down in his chair And buddy if I never live to see happiness again I want you to know I saw it that day, in the face of that little man
We took up a collection for him before his mama got home And each driver said goodbye and then they all were gone He shook my hand with a mile-long grin And said: "So long, trucker I'll catch ya again!"
Well, I hit the Interstate with tears in my eyes I turned on the radio and I got another surprise "Breaker 1-9!" Came a voice on the air "Just one word of thanks from Mama Teddy Bear!"
"We wish each and every one, a special prayer for you 'Cause, You just made my little boy's dream come true I'll sign off now, before, I start to cry May God ride with you, 10-4, and goodbye
DansMom replied: A lot of songs make me cry. But I ALWAYS cry when I hear or sing "Little Drummer Boy", ever since I was a little girl. In fact, I'm tearing up right now! Jeez.
A couple of songs remind me of my breakup after 12 years with Mike, my first true love. Splitting up our years of lovingly collected christmas ornaments was so awful I can't even think about it without crying---George is so understanding when this happens, I would never be that way about a woman from his past! The song that makes me cry the most is a song by George Benson called "You don't know what love is".
You don't know what love is Until you've learned the meaning of the blues Until you've loved a love you've had to lose You don't know what love is
You don't know how lips hurt Until you've kissed and had to pay the cost Until you've flipped your heart and you have lost You don't know what love is
Do you know how a lost heart feels The thought of reminiscing And how lips that taste of tears Lose their taste for kissing
You don't know how hearts burn For love that can not live yet never dies Until you've faced each dawn with sleepless eyes You don't know what love is
OK, I'm crying now---this sucks. I'll have to shut my office door!
coasterqueen replied: There are several that make me cry but one that makes me cry for the stupidest reasons is "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel.
My2Beauties replied: OMg I'm such a baby I just sat here and started crying at my desk reading the words to that song because I am getting married next month and thinking of dancing to my dad with that would have me crying hysterically!
The daddy/daughter dance, A song for my daughter on her wedding day by Ray Allaire is what we're dancing too though, it makes me cry too:
Ray Allaire, Mikki Viereck Just once upon a yesterday I held you in my arms You grew into a little girl with lovely childhood charms Now it seems I only turned around And I see you by his side Oh, I can't believe my eyes today My daughter is a bride
I guess somehow I always knew This day would soon be here Still I wonder as I look at you What became of all the years And no words could ever quite express The way I feel inside Oh, I can't believe my eyes today My daughter is a bride
All the laughter and the teardrops The sunshine and the rain I would relive every moment, Dear If I could bring them all back again
But now, my love, the time has come To send you on your way So I wish you every happiness And the blessings of this day And I hope the love I've given you Will forever be your guide Oh, I can't believe my eyes today My daughter - Oh, I can't believe my eyes
My daughter - Oh, my angel and my pride My daughter is a bride
Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh OMG, I'm a bluthering idiot too now!
Bonnie Raitt - I can't make you love me
Turn down the lights, turn down the bed Turn down these voices inside my head Lay down with me, tell me no lies Just hold me close, don’t patronize - don’t patronize me
Chorus: cause I can’t make you love me if you don’t You can’t make your heart feel something it won’t Here in the dark, in these lonely hours I will lay down my heart and I’ll feel the power But you won’t, no you won’t ’cause I can’t make you love me, if you don’t
I’ll close my eyes, then I won’t see The love you don’t feel when you’re holding me Morning will come and I’ll do what’s right Just give me till then to give up this fight And I will give up this fight Chorus: cause I can’t make you love me if you don’t You can’t make your heart feel something it won’t Here in the dark, in these lonely hours I will lay down my heart and I’ll feel the power But you won’t, no you won’t ’cause I can’t make you love me, if you don’t
Also My Immortal by Evanenscence.. reminds me of my lil sister for some reason and I have to turn it off...
DansMom replied: Ashley, that is so strange! That Bonnie Raitt song is the one that always makes Mike cry (we are still friends so I know this). Songs can be so powerful.
jdkjd replied: Yup. both the original and the Kenny Loggins version. I think it's because I listened to the Kenny Loggins Pooh Corner cd through both pregnancies.
Lollie replied: A song that really touched my heart and brings tears to my eyes is 'You Raise me Up " by Josh Groban...It is sooo beautiful and the words!!! I LOVE that song!
A song that always stops Devlin in his tracks and gets him emotional is "Butterfly Kisses"..Cant think of the singers name right now.But the song is all about a dad's experiences through life as he watches his little girl growing up...
Cary Lynn replied: My Immortal and Here without you are the songs that tear me up. My immortal just because of the Lyrics and the Here without you is because of My Friend Timmy. It was playing alot when he was in Iraq.
Mommy2BAK replied: Awe, those are all great sad songs! There are so many that make me cry, but this one really gets to me, because it kind of descibes John (and me kind of) when we first found out I was preggo and then we are SO happy now!
Kenny Chesney "There goes my life" All he could think about was I'm too young for this. Got my whole life ahead. Hell I'm just a kid myself. How'm I gonna raise one.
All he could see were his dreams goin' up in smoke. So much for ditchin' this town and hangin' out on the coast. Oh well, those plans are long gone.
[Chorus:] And he said, There goes my life. There goes my future, my everything. Might as well kiss it all good-bye. There goes my life.......
A couple years of up all night and a few thousand diapers later. That mistake he thought he made covers up the refrigerator. Oh yeah..........he loves that little girl.
Momma's waiting to tuck her in, As she fumbles up those stairs. She smiles back at him dragging that teddy bear. Sleep tight, blue eyes and bouncin' curls.
[Chorus:] He smiles..... There goes my life. There goes my future, my everything. I love you, daddy good-night. There goes my life.
She had that Honda loaded down. With Abercrombie clothes and 15 pairs of shoes and his American Express. He checked the oil and slammed the hood, said you're good to go. She hugged them both and headed off to the West Coast.
[Chorus:] And he cried, There goes my life. There goes my future, my everything. I love you. Baby good-bye.
There goes my life. There goes my life. Baby good-bye.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Oh that made me get all teary and I don't even know the music to it! If I ever hear that song anywhere I'm going to be in trouble!
Oh no, I see, A spider web is tangled up with me, And I lost my head, The thought of all the stupid things I said, Oh no what’s this? A spider web, and I’m caught in the middle, So I turned to run, The thought of all the stupid things I’ve done,
I never meant to cause you trouble, And I never meant to do you wrong, And i, well if I ever caused you trouble, Oh no, I never meant to do you harm.
Oh no I see, A spider web and it’s me in the middle, So I twist and turn, Here I am in my little bubble,
Singing, I never meant to cause you trouble, I never meant to do you wrong, And i, well if I ever caused you trouble, Oh no, I never meant to do you harm.
DansMom replied: Here, have one of mine! Divorcing someone you still love but it just won't work SUCKS---I truly know how you feel.
guertin31 replied: the sad part, was that no matter how hard I tried, no matter what I said or did, nothing was ever good enough. After 8 years together, I ended the insanity. It was hard, but worth it in the end of it all.
Sometimes, we just keep losing and losing until we feel that theres nothing to live around for... Then, things change... its the calm before the storm and before you know it, your life is turned in a different direction. It's up to you to move your head to where life is pointed... With the new love in my life and my new son, today, i'm happy...
DansMom replied: Very well stated! In my marriage now I can be myself and it's not only good enough but great---what a liberation. And to have a family, a wonderful little boy, a happy marriage, is bliss. I sometimes am afraid I'm too happy now, like I'm tempting fate. While I still mourn the losses of my past, I'm constantly pinching myself right now because things are very good.
guertin31 replied: I hear you... I was up late last night thinking about things in my past including my X wife and as I was looking at my wife sleeping like an angel I would just wonder if I was worthy of being happy...
I pinch myself from time to time... Keeps me grounded...
bwalkerletters replied: I agree with Alice.........Dance with my Father........the reason it makes my eyes swell and tear up is because I think of my little girls. It's funny to think of a big guy crying like I do when I listen to that song. I have that Luther CD, but I don't listen to it much anymore. haha
MomToJade&Jordan replied: You guys sure know how to make a hormotional preggo woman
In my Daughters Eyes gets me every time, especially that last verse. I'm getting tears in my eyes just thinking about it. I can hardly sing that verse through all of the weeping.
Let Them be Little gets me as well. I saw the video the first time I heard the song and the water works were just a coming.
Butterfly Kisses used to mean something else to me. We didn't have a big wedding and no reception so I never did get that father, daughter dance. Now it makes me cry to think about my baby getting married some day. Watching her gliding around the dance floor with her Daddy on her wedding day. They grow up so darn fast.
All right I have got to stop torturing myself right now. I'm surprised Jade isn't over here asking me if I cry.
adamsmom replied: Christmas Shoes by Nu Song (a Christian group) that is played over and over at Christmas. I love the song, cry every time, but can't ever turn it off. It always seems to come on in the morning when I'm 2 minutes away from work, too. The Docs at the office know if I come in crying "that song was on again". lol!
Another one is 'He Walked on Water' by Randy Travis. Reminds me of my Grandfather and can't turn that one off either! Who am I kidding, I play them both on purpose sometimes!
babys_aura replied: Hmmmmm let me think....I am a pretty emotional person I cry at commercials for god's sake.....but the really really tough ones......are that song that came out after September 11th......"Silent Night, God's perspective"....oh my god I cannot listen to that without boohooing.
Also, I cry EVERY time I hear the Star Spangled Banner. It is very patriotic to see a sports team with their hands over their hearts, mouthing the words while someone sings it.
I also cry at "I'll be home for Christmas"....but only by Anne Murray......
Great idea for a thread!!! Amy
Gracee142 replied: Wow, very well said!! When I read this I smiled.. who knows why we go thru the things we do. Only God know for sure. What you just said was the story of my marriage. You learned your lesson and you learned it well. I commend you for moving forward...it takes alot of courage and strength to do what you just said. Your new love and son are lucky to have you.. You are a very strong person!!
I am very happy for you!!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I do this too. It's just something about that song.
ammommy replied: That used to get to me, too. Then Cartman on South Park ruined it for me
I Hope you dance gets me everytime.
Lee Ann Womack » I Hope You Dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
Dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance..
CCTandME replied: Don't really make me cry, but pull at the heart strings a little anything by Alabama (my dad's favorite. he died 6-16-98) Buy Me a Rose- Kenny Rogers (not sure it that is the title) Life By the Drop- Stevie RayVaughn and many of his other songs. I know there are MANY more, but can't think right now.
taylor&zachsmom replied: Colin Raye... If you get there before I do.........
Escape Club... I'll be there for you...
Both of these songs my dh put on a tape that he made for me when we were dating and they bring tears to my eyes and a lump into my throat every time I listen to them. They both relate to your love one dying. And it makes me ache to think of that day ever coming to me. I know that I will lose it.
