sparkys2boys wrote: I was really spoiled today wub.gif First all four of us cooked a huge brunch together, and the kids gave me thier gift, it was something I had mentioned I wanted ages ago. They are wooden letter wall hagnings that say Live, then love and the last one says laugh. I loveeeee them so much! Then I went back to bed while the guys cleaned up wub.gif After I got up we just hung out, and dh did some more painting and then yes I went for another blessed nap biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif and did not feel guilty for even one second! Dh then surprised me with LOBSTER!!!!! OMG, so so so good! Now the kids are in bed and I am sitting here eating dry fruit loops tongue.gif Ahhh what a wonderful day! So, what did everyone else do or get today?

luvmykids replied: That all sounds like a perfect day! thumb.gif I'm sooooo jealous of your nap tongue.gif

I had a great mothers day, I would have been happy with nothing else but DH being home but he came to church with us (which is a HUGE deal, it meant a lot to me wub.gif ), then we went to my moms for steaks on the grill and my famous strawberry pie biggrin.gif . We just had a great time relaxing and talking, it makes me soooo happy to see DH finally to the point with my parents that he can kick back and relax and joke around. I got a really cute little brown tank dress, some Croc type shoes (ok, I'm a convert, they are SO comfy) and some make up. It was probably the best mothers day I've had so far smile.gif

eta: The best part of the day was when the kids sang songs for me about why they're glad I'm their mommy love2.gif

sparkys2boys replied:
Awwww Mon, that's so sweet!

Ya know I think this was one of the best Mother's Days I have had to, I know it sounds strange because we didn;t do anything wild and wonderful but I really really enjoyed it all the same!

luvmykids replied:
That was how I felt, we didn't do anything spectacular but it was so relaxed and enjoyable that it will be a tough one to beat!

mckayleesmom replied: I got too gummy lifesavers..... laugh.gif

We did backwards day today....we ate soup and Brownies (the kids helped me make) for breakfast, french toast for lunch and we had grilled cheese for dinner.

We are celebrating next weekend. We are going to dh's company picnic and then while we are down in Wilmington we are going to take the kids to the aquarium.

There are a couple things I have been wanted to get myself...so I will do that this week sometimes as a gift from them......stuff they can't just pick out for me.

A&A'smommy replied: we had a good day but I didn't get anything considering yesterday was our anniversary and Thursday we are having a baby tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied:

Cece00 replied: I slept late, DH made breakfast. Then I went to see my friend who had a baby yesterday, I brought them lunch wub.gif Then I went shopping BY MYSELF all day, came home, made dinner, DH gave the kids baths & had cleaned the house, and we put them to bed together. Now we're about to eat dinner ourselves & watch "The Tudors".

We bought each other those tickets for M/F Day & my kids all made me stuff @ school that I loved.

It was a great day!

lovemy2 replied: I got a beautiful Mother's Ring for Mother's Day - it has Olivia's birthstone, Dylan's birthstone and DH's and My birthstone (we are both October) and my Grandfather had given me a pair of diamond earrings shortly before he died (almost 10 years ago) I had always said I wanted to have a ring made of them because I don't wear earrings much - so DH had them put into the ring too - wub.gif other than that - DH worked today so the kids and I went to see my Gram in the hospital and then we all went to my Mom's for dinner - it was very nice - a beautiful ring plus all the wonderful homemade things Olivia made me wub.gif wub.gif

moped replied: Don't even ask bawling.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: I had an awesome day!

Woke up late, ate the breakfast that DH and the girls made me. Opened my picture frame from K, went on a scavenger hunt for the other books they bought me (Joy of cooking, tassahara bread book, girls scouting book and two gardening books). Then we played a few rounds of go fish, hullaballo, uno and whack a mole, K and I went shopping for my mommies weekend next week, had an awesome dinner which I didn't have to clean up afterwards and everyone went to bed well. It was a GREAT day. Oh, and DH and I played a few games on my new Wii

Jamison'smama replied: DH got breakfast for all of us, went to church, got gifts from the kids---Jack gave me a race car that flips over (okay, maybe he had an ulterior motive when choosing that one). Jamison got me a really neat iron planter. We went to a nursery and bought all the flowers for the yard plus a couple of neat hanging baskets. Ate at Chilis, walked around Target and bought frivolous things then I read The Trouble with Tink until Jamison fell asleep----yummy day!

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: I had a pretty good day, but mostly because I REALLY appreciated being able to spend it with my Mom and Family. My Dad passed away last July and it kind of puts things into perspective.

I woke up with Sam at 7:00AM because Tim was at Walgreens buying me a singing balloon, a bag of candy, some gum (LMAO because I told him last night if he ran to Walgreens in the morning to get me a Mother's Day gift to pick me up some gum ) and a card from him and a card from the kids. When he came home he sent me back to bed. Then, at 11:45 they all woke me up. Tim and I made the kids lunch and sent them off for their nap. I baked some chocolate cupcakes with homemade cream cheese icing topped with either chocolate sprinkles or chopped pecans for my Mom's house. Then I jumped in the shower, got ready - the kids woke up - we got them dressed and off to my Mom's we went. All 8 of my brothers and sisters were there with their kids. It was VERY relaxed this year. People showed up when they wanted and left when they wanted. Everyone brought a dish of a side or dessert and my Mom made her famous sloppy joe's (she uses Maul's sweet and tangy bbq sauce instead of the manwich sauce). Sam and Abby were totally all over Daddy so I got to hang out and talk with my brothers and sisters. thumb.gif

Danalana replied: First, I got a card from Kade (unsigned, of course)...it was very sweet and brought tears to my eyes. Then we went to church and every mother got a white rose smile.gif After that, we went to Richard's parents and made some pictures. After that we went to my BIL's and ate and watched a movie. Richard got me some stuff I have been wanting for Kade and he is also going to get me a new rocker recliner. Before we left BIL's house, Richard and I were looking through a baby name book...trying to pick out boy and girl names for the next one smile.gif And now I'm just sitting here watching my wonderful baby sleep!

A&A'smommy replied:
OMG it does seem like this pregnancy has FLOWN by ohmy.gif I'm all of the above lol and I have SOOO much to do and what I want to do before she gets here I'm driving dh crazy emlaugh.gif

Danalana replied: It really did fly by...I can't believe it's Thusday!

ZandersMama replied: i'm so happy you all had a good mothers day. And moped, i'm right there with you hug.gif

DillsMommy replied: Dylan brought me breakfast in bed (cereal happy.gif ) and he gave me a couple things that he made at school. Tom gave me his gift-- the movie Juno, which I have been wanting! We hung out at home for a little while, then went over my parents and his parents. It was a very nice day, except for the cold, cold rain. dry.gif After the kids where in bed, we watched the movie--LOVE it!

ediep replied: we had a great day. Jason made me gifts at school and DH bought me an awesome tiny pink camera. I love it! We went to church and then after Emma's nap we went to my sisters for dinner with my parents and sisters and brother and some other family.

mummy2girls replied: Marcus got up with Jenna and let me sleep in. and while i was sleeping they made me breakfast in bed... eggs, toast, bacon and hashbrowns. Jenna buttered mytoast so there was a big blob of butter. And she cracked my eggs:) so cute! Jenna made me a recipe in a jar at school, marcus got me a card( i told him I didnt want anythinga dn we are financially at a point where he couldnt really buy em anything. And then we went to his sisters for a mothers day BBQ

coasterqueen replied: I am glad to *hear* everyone else had a great Mother's Day. thumb.gif

I had a great Mother's Day as well. We celebrated pretty much the entire weekend. happy.gif We knew the weather was supposed to be yucky on Sunday and I wanted to go for a picnic in the park and to the zoo so we did that Saturday. Dh and the girls suprised me with one of my Mother's Day presents - a new picnic basket and all the stuff to go with it. I love it! We used it for our picnic. It was a great day. Then they took me to dinner, which was fab. After the girls went to bed Dh fixed me some Raspberry dacquiri's yummy.gif and we watched a movie.

Yesterday, Dh suprised me with another gift for MD. He booked us a romantic getaway the weekend of our anniversary. So it's part MD and part anniversary present.

One of the best gifts I got was my outdoor swing, which I've wanted for YEARS. DH got it for me before megan's surgery so we could swing out on it while I was home. wub.gif wub.gif

Kylie also made me a MD card from school.

It was the best Mother's Day I've had. I love my family. wub.gif wub.gif

Oh then last night while we were watching a movie, Dh said he had one more gift for me. I got a nice lotion body rub. wub.gif wub.gif AhhhhHH!

Teesa®© replied:
Sounds like yours went just like mine. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

I've banned MD from my house now. No one's even allowed to say it growl.gif

momofone replied: Good Luck Jessica!

Calimama replied: Spa certificate and a love letter from DH. He's adorable. wub.gif

stella6979 replied: Not a darn thing, but we don't really celebrate those types of holidays. Jeff had to work, so Avery and I just did some crafts and made some brownies. smile.gif

Insanemomof3 replied: I got nothing and I worked. I did get to kiss my kids before work though, and fight with my ex. Cried all the way to work. Happy mother's day to me. LOL

I am better now though. Glad you guys all had fun.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Mine was awesome! I got a new dishwasher, a new (to me) minivan (it's 8 yrs old, but NICE!), a clean house, and an awesome dinner wub.gif .

coasterqueen replied:
Mollie,

I'm glad you had a great Mother's Day as well. You deserve it. thumb.gif
