Speaking of Brownie patches...

MommyToAshley wrote: I had purchased some of that no sew glue for Ashley's Brownie patches, and I thought they were holding up well.... until her awards ceremony last night. I noticed a few of them were starting to get loose and I even pulled one off before it fell off. I guess I am going to have to learn to sew... but I am afraid of messing up her Brownie vest. sad.gif

coasterqueen replied: Do you know of a seamstress in town? I take everything that needs sewing to a seamstress. It's not exactly cheap, but if I did it myself everything would look terrible. tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied: thumb.gif I use a hot glue gun - works awesome thumb.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: if you need help call me, I can sew.

MommyToAshley replied:
Does that hold up in the wash?

MommyToAshley replied:
Thanks but I would hate to bug you everytime she needs a patch on.

Maybe you can give me lessons in sewing and french braiding. LOL

Kaitlin'smom replied:
might have to be a couple lessons laugh.gif french braiding while I find it easy not everyone can get it right away, but I would be happy to help.

coasterqueen replied:
Can I borrow Ashley or Kaitlin to try french braiding? laugh.gif I used to know how to do it but it's been so long and my girls won't sit still so I can try doing it to their hair. rolleyes.gif tongue.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:
yep you can borrow Kaitlin or me, I love having someone do my hair.

lovemy2 replied:
So far - I turn it inside out (I know that sounds kinda impossible with a vest but it does help) I have only had to wash it a couple time so far though so - the key is to get the glue right on the edge of the patch....

Boo&BugsMom replied: DeeDee, it's been awhile since I've been in GS or Brownies, but if it's anything like Tanner's Awana vest you don't need to know how to really sew like a pro. All I do is sew around the edges on Tanner's patches, enough so they don't fall off and look like they are on sturdy. I have very limited sewing ability and I think his patches look no better/worse than any of the other clubbers. If I can do it...you can do it.

lisar replied: I just call Granny and take it to her. I cant sew.
