Speaking of families - what is the funniest thing

mckayleesmom wrote: You have ever overheard someone say about your family. I will admit that my family is CRAZY....I think we are pictured in the dictionary next to disfunctional....But don't tell my mom that because she says that makes her look bad when I say that..... rolling_smile.gif

Anyways....We lived in this apartment complex when I was about 15. I was always the quiet book worm child. Im my moms only child that never rebelled... rolling_smile.gif . There was a family that lived next door that had 3 teenage boys and a 4 year old...so a huge age gap. I use to sit on out porch swing and read and he would always come over and talk to me because I was nice to him and the brothers didn't want him tagging along with them. One day he was sitting there and he said "my mommy says your the only normal one" laugh.gif Man...I love that kid wub.gif rolling_smile.gif

MiniMomy replied: rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif That's never really happened to me but I would love that little kid too!

C&K*s Mommie replied: bigthink.gif I will have to think about the funniest thing, my brain is scattered now with thoughts of what I need to be doing. But so far I have accomplished little of it. laugh.gif

mummy2girls replied: oh i think my family is what you call beyond a saop show.. i wont go into detail but lets just say if anyone really knew what my family life is you all would run for the hills! ....

I dont really know any funny things though:(

AlexsPajamaMama replied: Disfunctional and Psycho sums it up for my family!!

Oh my MIL has said plenty of things about my family.....one thing I find kinda funny is when she referred to me as a "stuck up rich girl" after our wedding because we had TONS of flowers.......well that was because my Dad owns the family FLOWER shop that he has worked in since the day he could walk...and it was left to him when my GF passed away.
(Sorry...maybe that was a left over vent from my previous post about MIL! growl.gif )

rolling_smile.gif Thats cute what that boy said to you!! rolling_smile.gif

JAYMESMOM replied: I have always considered my family to be close. We see our cousins on a regular basis and all holidays are celebrated together. When I was dating my DH he acutally told me my family was TOO CLOSE and that We were strange because if we got in an argument one day the next it was like it didn't happen.

wacko.gif I thought that was a good thing but not where he comes from. His brother is till holding a grudge for something that happened almost 2 years ago. Give it up already is my motto.

The other funny thing was he told me that my family was dysfunctional yet his mother can only have one of her boys in her life at a time.

As for the close family part friends are considered a part of our family. While my son informed me he has too many aunts, uncles, and grandparents and needs a few less people. ohmy.gif HMMMMM-Can I pick who goes?

AlexsPajamaMama replied: None of my Dads side of the family gets along anymore. wacko.gif I wish we were all close like we used to be when I was growing up. There are no more family get togethers for holidays or just because since my grandfather passed away 3 years ago.

Italianhuney replied: My family is pretty strange.. ESPECIALLY MY DAD. He is this 70 year old crazy old man...his mouth is louder than his whole body x 100!!! All my friends/sisters friends are scared of him, my sister had her friend over about 11pm last night, my dads screams at her "get some toilet paper and wipe ur @ss now get the fu*k out of my house!!!!!!!!!!" he only met her once.. i felt bad. He takes his cane and tries to chase my sister around the house... he can't really walk though so it's kind of hard... and then when telemarketers call... he puts on some chicken voice... he's a nut!!! blink.gif

CosmetologyMommy replied: my grandpa is so funny! He will tell u exactly what is on his mind! He is 66 and drives a little red corvette and a big black silverado with naked lady stickers all over it and COUNRTY BOY written on the back!(He was borned and raised in West Virginia) We were paying the toll once and a cop was there just monitoring who was wearing their seatbelts and my grandpa never wears one and the cop told him to put it on and my grandpa yelled, "f*ck you!" as we drove off! I was soo embarrassed! ohmy.gif

luvmykids replied: I haven't over heard anything about our family in general, but last summer at this rodeo series we went to every few weeks I always overheard people talking about me and the kids ... "Are all those hers? No, she can't be the mom. She must be their aunt. Wait, maybe that one is but definitely not all of them." rolling_smile.gif

And Colt always tells me "Man mom, you have a lot of kids" emlaugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied:
lol

holley79 replied: That is just too funny.

My mom has a bumper sticker that reads: "If you think I'm strange you should meet my parents!" It fits. One of my best friends bought it for her. LOL

kit_kats_mom replied: Well, it was actually a member of the family who pointed it out to me. "The king family neurotic flair" is what he called it. All of us cousins were drinking at the family reunion late into the night and he started telling DH all about the "King family neurosis". It was hysterical. He was pointing out things that I'd never noticed and had taken for granted about my mom and aunts and uncles.

I've also been told that we are too close and we take in strays like crazy. You can always expect at least 4 non-familiy members at any Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. rolling_smile.gif
