Speaking of gas prices.... - Who else has hit the $3 mark?

C&K*s Mommie replied: only one place I have seen has consistently hit the $3.09 mark, but they are always $.10 higher than the rest of town.
Everyone else hovers at $2.99 or less. Cannot remember what I paid yesterday, but it was somewhere in the $2.8+'s.

coasterqueen replied: We hit over $3.00 a couple of weeks ago. Then finally mid of last week it got down as low as $2.97 and then yesterday it was back up to $3.12. 
It cost me $15 just to mow my yard this past weekend. So that's $60 a month just to mow my yard.

OUCH! Wow, I know you've said you had a big yard, that totally sucks. DH figured the other day that he filled a 2 gallon can at the beginning of the summer and we're just running out now, so that's about $6 for two months...not bad but we only have 1/3 acre and a push mower.
Last time I filled up I paid $2.73 but that was about a week ago. I haven't looked at the gas prices lately but I'll need to fill up soon. My friend said she heard on the news that they are expecting to see $4/gallon by the end of the year. I won't be able to afford to go anywhere!

Yeah we have 3.5 acres of land, which about 2 of it is mow-able. We use a rider for the majority of it. Then the rest is push-mowed and weed-eated. I spend about 3 to 3.5 hours mowing and then Dh spends another hour or 1.5 hours weed-eating and such.

1 gallon is 4.546 litres... and our price up here is 1.07$ per litre, this afternoon.
That's 4.86$ a gallon. (ahem - which makes it 4.26$ US funds.)

I am glad you did the conversion cause I was just going to try to figure it out - over in the west we are at 1.05ish......so about hte same as Rocky!!!

C&K*s Mommie replied:  But Rocky, sometimes it feels nice to be able to b*$%h and moan, and have others feel the same as you. I know it could be worse, and it may end up being more/gallon in the future, but this is great to be able to vent (whine) and grrr @ the prices we all are paying nowadays. 
I am a hypocrite because normally I cannot stand whining, but I do it too just the same in other ways. Paying for gas and seeing how little I am getting once I crank back up causes me to be groaner big time!
Brias3 replied: Oh, we've been over $3 all summer. The lowest I've seen lately is 3.09 in the area. I filled up yesterday for what was a "deal" in our area- $3.17. We're in the Milwaukee area. This whole gas thing is a joke!

I agree... it is much more expensive outside the US. If I convert CHF to US $ our gas sells for $5.44/gallon. Although I believe that there is only 3.78 liters to a gallon.... which is what I calculated with to come up with the $5.44

I saw at mainegasprices.com that Northern Maine is at 3.09
Mofinski replied: It's $3.09 by me in CNY... Diesel is only like $2.50! My brother runs a Diesel Jetta on Used Oil from McDonald's... he only has to buy a cheeseburger and they give him the oil for free... Oh the horrors~  If I could buy a Diesel and the conversion kit, I think we would be better off... my diet might be shot, but oh well anything to save a buck!!!!!!!!!!!

My2Beauties replied: It's been well over $3.00 here for a few weeks, the average I see around town is between $3.04-$3.09 Oh man and my gas tank is almost on E today!
