Spencer Spiked a Fever
Kirstenmumof3 wrote: and it starts all over again! He was complaining of a headache this morning so they gave him some Tylenol for that. I left around 12 since he was just going to be sleeping and told him I would be back around 4:30 to order him some supper He doesn't feel at all like eating. They have done cultures from his line and from the vein and these take 3 days to grow in the lab. He's on 2 very powerful antibiotics, which is procedure for any fever on the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. My poor guy! His nurse told me he has just been sleeping all afternoon. So I'm heading out in about 10 minutets with instrtuctions for them to call me if anything happens. I'm only 5 minutes away if he needs me. I just hope this is nothing!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Crud. I hope it's nothing either. Hugs to you and Spencer. Here's some ~~~don't grow bugs~~~ vibes for the blood cultures.
Kentuckychick replied: Ugh... as if he didn't have to go through enough just having the transplant! I'm praying for him this afternoon, that it's just a "simple" fever and no nasty infections grow and that the antibiotics knock out whatever it is.
At least he's able to get some sleep, I hope that what rest he's getting is peaceful and he's able to bounce back quickly. I hope you are able to get some rest too!
Praying super hard!
redchief replied: Aww, poor guy. Hope he responds quickly and is feeling better.
paradisemommy replied: oh man..lots of get well vibes for spencer coming along with our continued prayers..
Calimama replied: I hope it's nothing too serious! Hugs to you all.
amynicole21 replied: Keeping you guys in my thoughts.
cameragirl21 replied: oh, Kirsten, i hope he feels better soon, poor guy.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Thanks Everyone! I just can't help but look back at last time, this is how it all started. He ended up with a blood infection and had they had to pull the Central Line. I'm just praying really hard that this is just a fever!
MoonMama replied: Oh no! I hope they get him feeling better soon, lots of P&PTs!
jcc64 replied: He's been through so much, I would think a fever wouldn't be all that surprising. As hard as it must be, try not to let the complications of the last procedure freak you out. This is a whole new ballgame. He's gonna win this time- you gotta believe.
michmom replied: Hugs, I will keep him in my prayers.
lisar replied: I hope it turns out okay.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I hope it is nothing Kirsten!! Prayers for Spencer coming your way.
luvmykids replied: I'm sorry to hear, I hope it's nothing and gone as quickly as it came.
PrairieMom replied: one of these times he is bound to catch a break. Hang in there, both of you.
sparkys2boys replied: That poor lil guy has been through so much. Hope it's just a fever and things get back on track for u very soon.
gr33n3y3z replied: Thinking of the both of you And prayers
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Well so far no fever today. But he has a nasty cough and he still doesn't want to eat. I don't know what to do about that. I don't want to force him to eat, but he needs to know how important it is.
MyBabeMaddie replied: I hope everything will be okay! My prayers and thoughts are with you all!
A&A'smommy replied: poor baby I hope he starts to feel better soon so he can go home!!! Lots of P&PT'S
cameragirl21 replied: hope you all are doing well this evening, Kirsten, was just thinking about you and hoping things are looking up for you and Spencer.
redplaydoh replied: I hope his fever stays away and his hunger returns.
jem0622 replied: Continued P&PT for Spencer. And lots of hugs for Mom.
MommyToAshley replied: Glad his fever is gone and I hope he feels like eating today.
Many prayers coming your way!
jcc64 replied: How's he doing today, Kirstin?
lesliesmom replied: Keeping Spencer in my prayers... Hugs to you, too!!!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Well he has mouth sores that are really painful. They have started him on a morphine infussion and he just threw up as I was typing this! Okay he's fine now! Yesterday he had a lot of stooling, but that has stopped today. But they ordered an ultrasound of his stomach. They are doing a lot of preventative things. He's still very tired and usually is in bed by 6:30.
coasterqueen replied: Ahh, poor guy.
DansMom replied: Spencer has been in my thoughts and prayers, Kirsten
