Spent 3+ hours in the hospital last night.... - *Kinda long .....Sorry*
MyLuvBugs wrote: UGH! So, here is my day yesterday.... (I don't think I over did myself )
Get up, get kid dressed and fed, go to Midwife, go to JC Penney's and Motherhood store, come home Eat lunch, take a 2 hour nap....Dh comes home, we go to walMart to get kid some desitin and shoes and some groceries (and I started feeling really sore and achey down there), so we come home, eat dinner and sit down to watcha little Buffy the Vampire Slayer.....
1/2 way through the show I have a contraction....Now all I'm doing is laying down on the couch with my feet up in the air. So, Dh notes the time and 3 minutes later I have another even more intense. Ok. Starting to get a little worried. 3 minutes later ANOTHER! Dh says "are they BH?" and I glare back at him with a look that would kill most and say "Ah NO!"Then 6 minutes pass and here comes another.
This irregular pattern went on for 20-30 minutes. They weren't deathly painful, but they weren't BH. KWIM? And they varied from 3-8 minutes apart. Then I decided Ok, I'll get up and go pee and drink some water and see if that helps. I should not have gotten up b/c I had 2 just on my way to the bathroom. Then the kid moved suddenly and pulled a ligament witha vengence. OMG! So, I went Pee and came back out and told DH we're going to the hospital.
So, we call L&D and they have one of the midwives at my clinic call me, only to tell me...yes you need to go in and be evaluated. Well, DUH! Anywho! We called my Bro and SIL to come watch itty bitty, and then headed off to L&D. And wouldn't you know it......the stupid contractions STOPPED completely the second we pulled into the parking garage. AHHHHH! BUT the pressure down there and the ache in my lower back was sucky still, so we went in and got all hooked up. We were there for a little over 3 hours. I had an IV, had to pee in a cup, got checked, laid with monitors on, and they gave me a "mild" muscle relaxer. After 3 hours of monitoring.....I'd only had 2 or 3 VERY mild contractions (not like what I was having), and I wasn't dialating (THANK GOODNESS!), so they sent us home (at 12:30am)......
So, that was a fun "trial run", but I think next time I'll want to be closer to 38-40 weeks along. UGH! I just don't know what is wrong with my body this time around. It's very frustrating.
mammag replied: Well, I'm glad it stopped since it's so early. How frustrating though.....OF COURSE they stop right when you pull in......doesn't it figure?
I would just watch but if it happens again, don't hesitate to go in. They are used to that and it's better to be safe when they are close like that for an extended period, especially that early.
1lilpeanut2love replied: Glad all went well. Hope the baby stays puts for several more weeks. Good Luck! Take it easy girl and relax as much as possible!
coasterqueen replied: ((HUGS)) keep an eye on things. This is what I was going through with Megan but I just thought it was too early for me to be having contractions and no one believed me so I didn't even go to the hospital with them. Course they still didn't believe me when I went in that last time with her.
Ashlynn's Mommy replied: You should try to take it easy, and rest. You did alot in that one day. Pamper yourself a little.
luvmykids replied: Just like when you take the car to get fixed, right?
Hope it doesn't happen again until it's the real deal! And then I better be getting a phone call!
ashtonsmama replied: Kinda scary--sorry that happened! STAY PUT baby! KUP. Sorry that happened Erika!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh my Erika! Glad they stopped and it wasn't the real thing.
Stay in there little girl!
Halo42101 replied: I'll be praying for you & baby Lexi.
luvbug00 replied: stay put Baby!!!
CantWait replied: Glad they stopped. You still got some time to go.
Boys r us replied: That's scary!! I'm so glad that they stopped on their own!
When I reached about 25 weeks with Braedon, I had tons of issues with REAL contractions, it was scary, but in the end I made it to 38 weeks. Sometimes I think on 2nd & subsequent pregnancies, your body is just so in tune with what it needs to do that it's practicing isn't as necessary as it was the first time and can be kind of scary!
TheOaf66 replied: glad it turned out they way you wanted and sometimes these things just happen, same thing with our boy happned, had a dry run to the hospital
amynicole21 replied: Ugggh! How frustrating Sorry you had to suffer like that. Tell the bean to quit it!
