Spent a few hours in ob triage today
maestra wrote: I started having contrax about 2 minutes apart, so after an hour of them being regular, we went in. They monitored me, and sure enough, they were significant and 2 minutes apart, but they were also noticing the baby's heart rate was deceling slightly with the contractions. So they gave me a shot of tributaline, which I hope I never have to get again. Not only did it make me shake like crazy, but it made me really grouchy (more than I already was). They checked and I was dilated to 2cm.
Then the dr on call for my ob came in and said, it's not real labor yet, so I'm going to send you home. Since I'm just over 36 weeks, they are not going to help things along yet. Then he offers me a presrciption for narcotics for the pain. I said "What for?" I'm not going to get all doped up and sick from taking narcotics (because they make me vomit and really dizzy usually), then end up having to come back. And if it wasn't real labor, then why did I need the tributaline? He was already my least favorite dr in the practice, but now I just can't stand him.
I was really hoping that when I went that the contrax would stop, or they would tell me they were just bh and send me home. So I left pretty frustrated, and still contracting, though not as bad. I fell asleep when I got home, and when I woke up they were less.
I'm still going to work tomorrow, I can't just sit around "just in case".

Sending some ELV just in case you need them.
maestra replied: So far, I'm still here. Dr said yesterday that she is at -2 station, and she considers me a "generous" 1 cm. She believes that I could go this weekend, or early next week.
I'm still passing all kinds of gross stuff And the baby is really low. Jaci didn't drop until about 2 hours before I had her, so I'm not used to this feeling. Maybe all the walking at the zoo tomorrow will help?!
Josie83 replied: Man I so thought that you would have had her by now! I hope you're not too uncomfortbale. Try not to go into labour by the crocodile house! xx
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Okay Giselle....we want to meet you!!
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG that's awful! I hope the pain eases up for you and that you don't have anymore contractions for quite a while! (((HUGS)))
