Spent the mornings at the peds - Not a fun Appt

My2Beauties wrote: Urg, both girls had their check-ups today and that was not fun let me tell ya!! Hanna had to get 4 shots, they initially only told me 3 shots, so I was going to get her the flu vaccine this year since she is in daycare, I wasn't going to at first but I started really thinking about it. But when I found out she was already getting 4, I decided not to continue to let them stick the poor baby. Aubrey was scheduled for 3 shots today so I went ahead and got her flu shot. Poor Hanna, OMG she screamed when they gave her those shots in her arm, they gave her 2 in her leg too that she really flinched on but she didn't cry until her arm. bawling.gif I hated doing that to her. I swear I did. They said she's fine for when she starts school now, she won't need anymore shots until she is 11. Thank goodness. Poor little Aubrey didn't mind the first 2 shots but after the second one, she got PO'd. She was fine within minutes, Hanna wasn't fine until they brought her the toy box in, she got a toy for each shot. smile.gif She definitely liked that. She told everyone about her boo-boos today! Oh but I think the shots were worse for mommy then they were for her blush.gif I was so worried about it. Now I'm debating on whether or not I want to take her back for the flu shot. sleep.gif

My2Beauties replied: Oops I almost forgot...

Aubrey's Height: 25 1/4 inches (25th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs, 15.5 oz (50th percentile)
Head circumfrence: 16 3/4 inches (I think, 50th percentile)

Hanna's Height: 41 inches (75th percentile)
Weight: 39.9 lbs (75th percentile)

Both checked out perfectly!

amynicole21 replied: I hate when the kids get their needles. sad.gif I'm glad they both did ok, though.

grapfruit replied: I wish I got a toy when I get shots. dry.gif

laugh.gif Glad they both checked out great! happy.gif Shots are over, mom can relax now! hug.gif

MyBabeMaddie replied: Poor baby! I couldn't imagine stickin' a baby, Its bad enough sticking adults!

I say yes to the flu shot, but thats JMO, it will be way worth it when shes in school around all the germy kids.

gr33n3y3z replied: I hated those appointments also
I'm glad they did fine

lovemy2 replied: Glad everyone is healthy but sorry it was so tough - I did the same thing this year - Olivia's 5 year and Dylan's 6 month - it was HORRID - Olivia 3 shots - Dylan 4 - thought I was saving myself the hassle of two appointments but it would have been better to not take them together - thank god my Mom went with me hug.gif

stella6979 replied: I honestly don't see the point with the flu shots. I decided to start getting them a few years ago and every year I still get the flu. But, I decided to go ahead and get Avery done just to be safe and sure enough, she was sick 2 weeks later. I'm not sure that any of us will be getting flu shots anymore. dry.gif

My2Beauties replied:
Exactly what I was afraid of. sad.gif My mom got the flu shot about 3 years ago, first time she's ever gotten sick and gotten the flu, never got it any other year mad.gif She said she'll never get it again. Man I hope Aubrey doesn't get sick. She has to go back in 1 month to get another flu shot, evidently with kids her age they can't give it all in one dose or something unsure.gif

Oh and AmyNicole....those needles were HUGE sleep.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Poor babies, I hate shots!!!! sleep.gif They are growing so well love2.gif

MotherForever2043 replied: I hate those huge needles dry.gif What brave girls they were. I would give get her the flu shot, but that just my opinion. Daycare can be pretty nasty sometimes.
