Spoke too soon

holley79 wrote: I was so excited that Annika has been going to sleep between 10 and 11 every night and sleeping till between 6 and 7 in the morning. Tonight I have been, yet again, the human paci. My bbs and my back are killing me. She won't sleep for anything tonight either. She really hasn't slept much today so I would just assume that she would be tired. No such luck I guess. I have played with her off and on all day today. We haven't really done much tummy time but I decided to today. I noticed that when I do tummy time she is more regular with her BMs so I am trying to remember to do them. I was excited though because she did roll from her stomach to her back. Got to love those little milestones. blush.gif

Also is it normal for their hands to be cold? I feel bad because Annika's hands seem to be cold to me. They don't seem to bother her but I'm wondering if it's something I should talk to her pedi about?? dunno.gif

kayla's mama replied: Kayla's hands are always cold. I don't know why.

WTG, Annika on rolling thumb.gif

PrairieMom replied: The boys hands were always hot, but he is a human sweat ball, so I don't know. i wouldn't be to worried, my hands are always cold.
I can't believe she is rolling! what a big girl! thumb.gif

kimberley replied: thumb.gif WTG Annika! what a big girl rolling around!

K's hands are always like ice. i wonder if its because they are constantly wet from her chewing on her hands dunno.gif hope that was just another growth spurt and she sleeps well for you again. hug.gif

coasterqueen replied: Megan's hands are always cold too. Kylie's were always hot.

holley79 replied: Well when her and I are tummy to tummy nursing we both sweat so it kind of drives me nuts that her hands are cold. Guess we will get use to it.

She is taking a nap right now. She hasn't napped all day so I'm hoping it's not too late in the day. She will level out one of these days.

Is she going to go through a spurt once a week? unsure.gif I want her to grow but good grief. I wonder if she's maybe not getting enough to eat during her feedings and this is why she is nursing so often. dunno.gif

coasterqueen replied: Holley,

How old is she now?

holley79 replied: She is 8 weeks today.

coasterqueen replied: Kelly states on her site:

"Common times for growth spurts are during the first few days at home and around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 4-6 weeks, 3 months, 4 months, 6 months and 9 months (more or less). Babies don't read calendars, however, so your baby may do things differently.

Growth spurts don't stop after the first year - most moms notice growth spurts every few months during the toddler years and periodically thereafter on through the teenage years."

So you are getting closer to the spurts being every 3 months. Hang in there. hug.gif

holley79 replied: I was just reading up on that on Kellymom. I don't mind nursng but stars.gif

coasterqueen replied:
I know hun. I remember those days. They were rough! It got easier though and got even easier to deal with w/the second baby. You are getting there! hug.gif

salmndr007 replied: quick question...what is tummy time?

kimberley replied: hug.gif sorry hon. Kaleigh is doing the same thing and it feels like every week here too but it will get easier. hang in there.

holley79 replied:
I have a play mat that has linkadoos on it that make music. I put Annika on her Tummy and get down on her level. We play with rattles, mirrors, stuff like that to keep her attention. I was told it helps build their neck muscels and helps expel gas from their tummies. My DD is always going to tooterville so anything that would help I try. blush.gif Plus is another good way to have fun with her.

holley79 replied:
hug.gif Thanks Kim. I'm glad to know I'm not in a one "woman" boat here. It gets tiring but I'm trying to hang in there.

ediep replied: I'd guess growth spurt as karen already pointed out

It is normal for an infants hands and feet to be cold.

EvesMom replied: Holley, hang in there doll! I went through the same thing with Evelynn (I called it the feeding frenzy), when she would be up almost all night nursing. It gets a lot easier as she gets a little older. By the way, Annika is soooo adorable and I love her name!

A&A'smommy replied: WTG Annika!!!! Don't feel bad Holley they ALL go through times like that Alyssa slept through the night for about the first month and then after that it was NO more sleeping for a while... eventually she will like to sleep.

About her hands she is fine Alyssa was was ALWAYS hott except for her hands hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I always sat in my gliderocker to nurse Russell and I would just doze off while he nursed... rolling_smile.gif

holley79 replied:
I do the same thing but then I jerk awake and I am always so scared I'm going to drop her in the floor. blush.gif I usually nurse her in the bed with me so I can doze and know she isn't going anywhere. rolling_smile.gif
