Sports....

MyLuvBugs wrote: Ok. I just want to preface this by saying I am a sports girl. Always have been. But American NCAA Football is my fave.

So....Dh is sitting her watching the world cup of Soccer. I personally don't get soccer. He's tried to explain it to me a million times....and it's still skinny little men running around kicking a ball back and forth IMO. rolleyes.gif

Anywho...So, I say "I'm hungry! Do you want Wendy's (b/c those fast food posts have made me have a hankering rolleyes.gif )".....and he says "I can't leave now this is the exciting part of soccer." huh.gif It's the goalie (sp?) and one other guy kicking the ball at the goal. How is this exciting? huh.gif They're just standing there....Is his watching it going to change the outcome? huh.gif laugh.gif B/c if that's how it works I'm making him watch every K-State FB game this season. laugh.gif

He cracks me up! laugh.gif Does anyone else or their SO get sucked into their fave sports on TV?

luvmykids replied: laugh.gif Girl the only sport on our tv for the past 4 years has been boxing or golf, no matter who, what, when, etc. Parties have been missed, plans changed, family events cut short .... I'm telling you, they honestly do believe them watching influences the outcome ohmy.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: beer.gif banana2.gif GO NOLES! (Florida State Seminoles)

Chris loves football (pro or college) and basketball. He tolerates baseball, but that is about it. He even loves to watch throwback games of the Seminoles on the Sunshine Network here. rolleyes.gif

When the NBA playoffs were on a week or two ago, I was hoping he would not want to watch it. He watched one game, but that was all. redbounce.gif

Soccer, Hockey, most any other sport we do not watch. I would not mind learning about the games, though.

And yes, if a certain game is on. I can hang up dragging him out of the house. I respect his choice to watch, but if it is something that is important then he will leave with us.

My3LilMonkeys replied: For 17 weeks in the winter my Sundays revolve around Miami Dolphins football. On the rare occasion I get DH out of the house when one of their games is on he is checking the score on his cell every 5 min. However, I am a huge football fan too so I don't mind so much. Almost every Sunday during football season our entire family wears aqua and/or orange (Miami's colors). DH swears it makes a difference. emlaugh.gif

We do watch baseball and hockey on occasion and also professional wrestling (though I know some people don't consider that a sport).

Jackie012007 replied: my addictions are the BOSOX and the NY Rangers and Utica College in hockey... my college has a GREAT hockey team and I am friends (and the former RA) of lots of the guys on the team, and we get to go to games for free! That is our cheap entertainment during the winter, we go to hockey games and heckle the other team!!!

hockey is a great sport to watch, especially if you can go see it live!!! Really exciting... I used to play field hockey in highschool and it's even better on ide! I don't get to see all the Red Sox games but keep track of them, BIG PAPI is my man!

Football season is all Bills, all the time... DF is a diehard Buffalo Bills team (even though they totally SUCK) and he's a big NASCAR guy too (I like Brian Vickers, he likes Dale Jr, and my father like Jeff Gordon... can we say BALL BUSTING going on b/t DF and dad???) ... yep, we're hicks! biggrin.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
Oh yeah....DH does that Too!! rolling_smile.gif Or he'll suggest that we go to a resturant, and conveinently the game is on there and no matter what I say I get...."uh ha!" or "Ok dear!" rolleyes.gif He cracks me up! laugh.gif

ashtonsmama replied: OMG

You are describing MY husband Erika.

rolleyes.gif

He's such a World Cup freak, him and my BIL both, they both kept handing off the kids to us so they could watch the game today, and as we were driving back, he HAD to have the radio on to hear about the game....
laugh.gif laugh.gif

Nina J replied: I'm not really a sports kind of person, unless you count watching poker, but I don't mind watching soccor. It's exciting because you're just waiting for something to happen, sometimes someone doesn't get a goal, but when they do it's good..then you keep on waiting for someone to get a goal. It's the anticiapation happy.gif

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: My S/O hates sport's. Thank god. My BIL loves sport's, and my poor sister never get's to watch T.V in her living room because he's alway's down there watching Football or some other sport. That would drive me nuts wacko.gif wacko.gif wacko.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
Taking a page out of Nicholes book...

GO NOLES!!!!!!!

NCAA Football is my thing too. In fact I'm starting to get antsy, too much time has gone by without football.

I am so with you on the soccer thing. Never could understand how someone could get so into a bunch of men running around kicking a ball.

MyLuvBugs replied:
ME TOO!!! I'm a Kansas State Wildcat, and we have a new coach this year unsure.gif So, I'm so anxious about the first game I can hardly stand it! smile.gif

jcc64 replied: From sun up to sun down, we do nothing but sports in this house- if we're not playing them, we're watching them- mainly the NY Mets- and any other baseball that comes up. My personal favorite is in late July/early Aug, when the Little League world series is televised on ESPN. That's the game at its purest.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I don't think dh would know how to find a sport on our TV. He will go to Hockey or baseball live...maybe even football now that we are in CO and there is a football team here. But...in general if someone knows the score of a game it would be me smile.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Aaron is a die hard Indianapolis Colts fan. He lives and breathes them. Thankfully I didn't have to argue him out of naming our son Peyton, but it could have happened. Logan has had at least 2 Colts outfits for each of the past 2 seasons and he HAD to wear one or the other every Sunday. He already has a jersey for this coming season. I can't wait. rolleyes.gif Also, Aaron wore the same jersey for 5 weeks in a row without washing it because he swore it was lucky. Gross!!

MichaelsMommy replied:
My brother used to play for them a long while back smile.gif

Our house is baseball baseball baseball.. America's past time.

If it's not on TV its cuz we're running the girls to their softball games!

Brias3 replied: Oh, do I ever. My husband gets sucked into football something fierce.

Brias3 replied:
Oh, wow! One of my husband's best friends played for them for three seasons some years back.
