Stealing cable

Calimama replied: Is there a way to put a lock or something so the guy cant steal it? I would call my cable company and see what suggestions they have. Sorry I'm not much help!

coasterqueen replied: Call the cable company and let them deal with it. If you say something to the guy he'll know, but if you just let the cable co. deal with it, odds are he won't.

J-rod replied: if your cable company came out....get the report from them.... maybe press charges depending on how long he was stealing (if you can prove) $130/month for X months adds up.

TheOaf66 replied: actually it was the cable company's responsibility to do something about it, if they find someone who is "spliced" into your cable then they should fine them. Me, I would just let it die since it has been fixed but keep my eyes open for similar situations and keep reporting them to the landlord (your dad)

MyBabeMaddie replied: Yeah, the cable guy is the one who figured out that he was stealing. He cut their cable, but I don't want it to happen again! I also don't want to make this guy mad because I don't want him to do something to our place

CantWait replied: Let the cable deal with it, and just confirm what will happen. There's nothing much you can do except be more proactive in the future as soon as you notice problems.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Since the cable company already knows, I would just keep an eye on it to make sure he doesn't start again - and if he does, report him. Our neighbor was stealing cable and when the company came out and disconnect it he would just wait 2 or 3 days and hook it back up....and our stupid cable company never fined him or anything.
