Stonehenge? - possible religion....maybe

GavinsMommy wrote: What do you think of it? A popular theory is aliens. There is just no comprehending the movement of stones that large and heavy.

MY personal guess is that God placed it there and that it has always been there. For what reason...I don't know. Maybe it plays some part in how everything works as far as our planets and solar system. Or maybe it is some sort of symbol. We don't know everything, so I don't think we can just say that it was never there from the beginning.

GavinsMommy replied: okay people, i know you care about stonehenge! mad.gif

I do...really!! I have just been sitting her contemplating the whole thing. wink.gif laugh.gif

Maybe you're just thinking too deep for all of us. wink.gif

PascosGirl replied: I have seen it and I know there is no way that humans could have lifted and placed the stones in the position they are in now.

I have mixed feelings about the whole alien thing. Still debating whether or not I believe in them.

redchief replied: People built it. They were ingenious, religeous, crafty and dedicated, but they were humans. smile.gif

GavinsMommy replied: I have mixed feelings too. I believe the Bible 100%, but it doesn't really talk about aliens, or at least not the way that *I* interpret it.

But who knows...I don't doubt that *maybe* God has created other species out there somewhere on other planets. Because, let's face it people...space is way too large and complicated for our little pea brains to grasp! LOL...so there actually very well could be another planet of humans or another planet of aliens. Who knows.

BUT I absolutely DO NOT believe that any of these aliens have visited Earth or abducted people that occupy ours. I don't think that they "study" us. I personally just don't believe God would allow us to communicate with another world of people. I don't know why I think that...I guess because I don't think He would want us to because we couldn't handle it. LOL...I don't know. I just don't think He would.

I know, I know...there are 929347293472349 people out there that claim to have seen them, been abducted, and all have the same story. So what?? Is it so hard to believe that these people are making it up? After all...it's not too hard to say you were taken up into a giant silver disc of a ship and these grey blobs did things to your body...that's the same story if you ask me wink.gif

GavinsMommy replied:
I can accept that too...I just have no idea HOW they did it. Even great scientists today do not know how. I have heard that we can't lift those stones even now...is that true? That just doesn't seem likely...dunno where I heard that.

kit_kats_mom replied: Check out the Urantia book. My mom went though a phase with them. It's a religious group which speaks of aliens being related to god. I never really paid too much attention...lets face it, after the word alien was spoken, I had a hard time taking them seriously...but there were some very intelligent people in the group.

here is a brief summary from http://religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/uran.html

Beliefs of Group: The Urantia Book is the basis of beliefs of the Urantia Foundation. The book describes Urantia to be an ancient name for the planet Earth. There are five epochal events in the history of mankind; the fourth is the life of Christ and the fifth epochal revelation is the Urantia Book. The book does not present a complete religion. Urantia does not have a clergy or a creed one is required to believe in, nor does it have a code of behavior. There are many teachings of the Urantia Book.
Part I consists of 31 papers and describes the nature of Deity, the reality of Paradise, the organization and workings of the central and superuniverses, the personalities of the grand universe, and the high density of evolutionary models. These books were formulated by 24 spiritual administrators acting with a mandate issued by high deity authorities, otherwise known as the "Ancients of Days," directing that they do this on planet Urantia in the year 1934 AD.

Part II, comprised of 25 papers, describes the Local Universe, which is the work of the Creator Son of the Paradise Order of Michael. It is comprised of 100 systems of constellations, each with 100 systems of inhabited worlds. Each system will eventually contain about 1,000 inhabited spheres. Urantia (Earth) belongs to the local universe. Michael, the Son of God and the Son of Man (otherwise known as Jesus of Nazareth), is the sovereign of Urantia's local universe. In the central universe, the Universal Father (God) is a personally present figure. The Father is represented in sovereign universes by sovereign sons. However, he is still present in the minds of his mortal children through his "indwelling spirit," or "Thought Adjusters."

In Part III, the 63 papers describe the history of Urantia. Around 1,000,000,000 years ago, Urantia reached its present size. This part describes the history of the planet, its geologic development, the establishment of life, the evolution and history of man, evolving civilizations, human institutions and governments. It also discusses the Trinity concept, the evolution of religion, the indwelling spirit of God, personality survival, and the bestowals of Christ Michael.

Book IV, the final book, consists of 77 papers which describe the life and teachings of Jesus. It describes the Son of Man's childhood, youth, early travels, personal and public ministry, the twelve disciples, and his trial, death, and resurrection.

redchief replied: Call me Thomas, but I'll believe in aliens the same way I'll believe in ghosts... When I see one myself. biggrin.gif

GavinsMommy replied:
wink.gif Same here

I believe in angels visiting us and demons being among us, but not ghosts. They are two diff things.

GavinsMommy replied:
I'm not exactly sure what to make of all that. I'm reading some of the site now, but while it may come from an intelligent source, I have an idea of what I think of it already wink.gif Very interesting though and I am sure it is a good read.

AshleyRose replied: i believe in aliens... most def
