Strange pet behavior

MamaJAM wrote: I'm sure most of us, over the years, have owned a pet (or 2 or 10) who displayed 'odd' behavior.
Tell us about the 'odd' things your pets have done (or currently do).

Example -
We had a cat who played fetch. We discovered that fact one day when DH threw the cat's favorite foam ball down the hall in hopes of getting the cat to stop playing in our bedroom. The cat promptly returned with the ball pushed onto his one fang and dropped the ball on the bed for DH to throw again.

Also - we had a different cat who could open doors. We slept with our bedroom door shut - but one morning found our cats in the room with us and the door opened. We thought maybe we just didn't shut the door well the night before. The next morning we woke up to the sound of someone playing with the doorknob -- a few seconds later the door opened with the cat still holding the knob.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: We had a cat when I was a kid who would wake you up by sticking her nose in your ear. And if that didn't work, she'd pull your hair.

luvmykids replied: My horse loves candy, she can smell it a mile away and will totally track you down for it, especially hard cinnamon candies. And when you're cleaning her pen she'll drink your tea if you leave it on the fence, and if you set the rake down she'll run off with it. She also loves to walk behind you with her chin on your shoulder and if you're too slow she'll push your butt!

We had a cat who thought he was a dog, he sat on command, played fetch, and begged for food, esp. mashed potatoes!!

Our lab, Bogie, can open our sliding glass door.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: My ferrets will steal anything with a rubbery texture. Not that that is different from most ferrets, but mine will steal you slippers off your feet and have tried to drag Logan's socks under the couch still attached to his feet.

luvbug00 replied: Brad had a 23 lb. cat named LC umm "wee weee" for short. and He sat like a human in chairs and if you's say "he gonna make pretty" he'd roll onto his back. If you say " you got sneeze?" he'd sneeze. I sware he was human! lol!

Celestrina replied: I had a dog who could unwrap a hershey's kiss without shreadding the wrapper. We found this out one Christmas. My mom had left a bowl of them on the coffee table next to the couch and started finding wrappers on the sofa and floor. I was about 8 at the time, so naturally she thought it was me. I was being blamed until she caught her doing it!

I knew a horse that enjoyed taking women's shirts off, but only if they were well-endowed! ohmy.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: Our dog, Honey, is our daughter! wub.gif

Anytime we cry, she will come and jump in our laps, lick our tears away, and cuddle. Just what we need when we feel down. happy.gif

And if Cameron is crying, she will run up to me and bark, to let me know he's in trouble.

I love our dog!

BTW...Monica, your horse is a character!!! rolling_smile.gif I've always wanted a horse!

My3LilMonkeys replied:
Our oldest cat plays fetch also. She is so funny to watch!

My youngest cat plays with the cursor on the computer. She drapes herself over the top of the monitor, hangs her head down and bats at the screen.

holley79 replied: Well Gypsy is totally a man's dog.

DH taught her to opent he fridge, get a beer, take it to him, get his empty and put it in the garbage can then make sure the fridge door is shut. I kept waiting to come home to no groceries one day.

My horse's favorite past time was to take things out of your pockets while you were grooming her. The only problem was when you were wearing breeches that didn't have back pockets she try and pick you up by the waist. blink.gif

Celestrina replied: If you were standing with your back to him he would start to wiggle his nose down your back. If you didn't respond, he would nip your butt! tongue.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: We still have it Its a rabbit and he will beg for food Gummi Bears are his Fav.
and Chips but they have to be the baked kind.

When he was younger he would scratch at the door to go out and come back in for potty use. Now he just uses his cage.

So he is more like a dog smile.gif

aspenblue1 replied: Aspen loves to eat toilet paper rolls. He will take them off the role and eat the cardboard out of it.
