Stuff in nose

A&A'smommy wrote: SOOO today I was working on birthday stuff... and Alyssa comes running into my room screaming.. nose bleeding and sticking her finger up her nose.. freaking out!! Turns out for SOME unknown reason she stuck a computer screw up her nose so at first I took her to the ER and met DH there, but there was a crappy Dr. on duty so we left and went to the Dr's office (our family sick Dr not Alyssa's ped) and she almost sneezed it out but she she wouldn't blow it out... so the had to pull it out.. they nurses at Dr thought it was funny because Jeremiah is their computer guy they kept saying "OF course its a computer screw " its kinda funny to think about it.. but it made me feel like a REALLY bad mom for allowing it to happen like I should never take an eye off of her... I was REALLY angry at DH though I was TRYING hard not to curse him when I finally saw him at the ER.. but its not all his fault so I can't put all the blame on him anyway first time thats ever happened to us.

luvmykids replied: Once Colt put a little piece of rolled up paper up his nose. I had no clue until it started to smell bad. Does that make you feel any better?

I'm glad everything worked out ok, don't beat yourself or DH up, it happens

Don't worry or beat yourself up - things happen - I am surprised Olivia hasn't done something like that yet - although she did choke on a rock at daycare once - she put it in her mouth to clean it when she was laying down - imagine that phone call at work.....

Glad she is ok though

No, I was so relieved when the paper came out of Colt's nose that I laughed for days I have no idea what makes kids think it would be fun to stick something up their nose

Em put a rock up her nose once at daycare. I didnt know till that night when I heard her telling her friends. Kids do it for some odd reason. A screw would kinda hurt though.

Anthony275 replied: things like this arent fun- last year i had a piece of tissue lodged so far into my ear canal i couldnt get it out until i got home from school, tweezers are the greatest things ever. couldnt hear for the whole day

kimberley replied: aww don't feel bad... it happens to all of us. jacob swallowed coins, jade stuck stuff up her nose, james ate vaseline... they are quick lol.

CantWait replied: Oh boy. Don't feel bad Jessy...kids do silly things all the time. You can't watch them every second of the day, and unfortunetly that's all it takes is a second. There's nothing you could have done to prevent it.

ZandersMama replied: Zander took a HUGE piece of Green Pepper and put it up his nose. Figure that one out. When i asked him why he said it smelled good.
When I was his age i did it with a ball of tinfoil.
When my mother was that age she did it with a bunch of rocks.

Don't feel bad. Kids are weird. Really happy she is okay now, its scary when they hurt and you can't help them.

I still can't quite understand it, and honestly I don't think she was paying attention to what she was actually doing it because she can't answer why she did it!!!

Farelle replied: Andrew somehow pushed a piece of corn up his nose once! I freaked out! We had a HORRIBLE trip to the ER and they couldn't get it out!!!!!! It was the worst thing ever for him to go through. I was the one who finally got it out, on the day I was scheduled to take him to an ear, nose & throat specialist. Here's the secret.....or at least what they had me do. It's called reverse CPR, you put your finger over the side of the nose that does not have the object in it and blow as hard as you can into their mouth......it works!!! You can't even imagine how excited (and relieved) I was to see that piece of corn shoot out!!! LOL

My2Beauties replied: You guys are gonna laugh at me, when I was little I shoved anything and everything up my nose, don't ask me why. I stuck rolled up toilet paper up there, woudl literally take a teeny tiny piece, roll it up in a small ball and shove it up my nose, I stuck a rock up my nose, I stuck paper up there, I stuck candy up there (little pieces of candy) I mean you name it I was obsessed with sticking it up my nose if it was small, tweezers were my best friend, my dad could have become a skilled surgeon with the things he pulled out of my nose

Thank goodness Hanna hasn't caught on to this phenomenon yet but I'm sure her time is to come, so hon DO NOT feel bad, my parents were probably the most overprotective parents on the planet and I constantly found a few moment to get away and give into my "nose fetish!"
